Crucible is peak PoE and it's not even close.

Crucible may not go core, but I hope weapon trees are here to stay (in P0E2)

Nah, I think most players are fully prepared for Crucible not to go core.

What made Harvest so dramatic, was GGG's yo-yo'ing. It took them one Harvest league, one hiatus during Heist league to "balance Harvest", and one Ritual league where they, somehow, added Harvest back in with full power for them to realize they've fucked up - and started nerfing it appropriately.

Crucible will just... Go away. No biggie.

you have to much trust in ppl :D

on a harvest note. harvest was a mistake in a first place. GGG needed to remove when league ended and dont try to implement in a core game.

I have a lot of trust in people, and you just show why, with a spot on comment about Harvest.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

i think weapons will have they skills(like crossbows /spears) on poe 2 sooo maybe crucible is experiment to test waters for that.
I do like things that enable more builds. I liked the relics last league because they opened up a keystone to any build anywhere on the tree.

They didn't do a great job with all the skills though this league, but some of them were pretty good. I also enjoyed merging trees even though it was almost always bad.
Thanks for all the fish!

The thing is that was too much power creep with zero downside. I'd say they would be better off with charms in a set space (like the Santucm mechanic), similar to what LE has. An ability to further customize, but without significant creep.

It is hard to know exactly what any league is testing as a part of POE2. Scourge and then Crucible seems like a nice progression going somewhere.

Having read most of this I just want to say i am glad people enjoy crucible even if I don't.

I think raising the ceiling of crafts can be an interesting rng grind. But this league was really bad for a lot of people. Also the method of unlocking, viewing, and combining trees is boring and cumbersome.

Random mutating crucible nodes were a giant middle finger to the community as well as many trees just generating a single node ( even with high ilvl weapons).

I think we need to acknowledge crafting is terrible in the game. Essentially it comes down to 10,000 sided dice rolls 5 times in a row. We need more options that give determinism and make simple effective crafts easier to craft.

When the majority of the playerbase just trades for their items, crafting sucks. If ggg what's trading to be less prevalent buff crafts, as it is right now I am better off hideout spam trading than any other activity in the game. Not a real fun expierence, or a good sucessor to diablo 2.
I wonder if there might be a new skill gem coming that allows one to build a weapon tree tied to the number of sockets in the gem? How one might build such a tree is wide open: craft, roll with currency, passive tree connected, etc. That would keep the weapon trees in line with the new skill gem system.

I am talking only in terms of raw power and build possibilities provided by League mechanic. I am sure GGG will make better League and improve base game even more, but builds...builds will never be as powerful as they are in CRucible. Crucible seems like outlier among recent'ish Leagues and given direction game is going at - baseline power will be nerfed yet again in next patch on top of all things. Next League will need to do a ton to catch up.

I totally agree that it is one of the most powerful leagues that poe has released.
It seems to me that this time GGG combined some positive experiences from previous leagues such as Harvest and Sentinel and incorporated them here.
There's good fun here for all types of players:
players (only), crafters, traders, collectors etc.

Amen to that.

I am not sure about it actually. For outrage you need to have understanding to have proper point of comparision and I think people don't realise just how much power a lot of builds gain from Crucible. See how many say next League will give us just as much power or that Sentinel / Harvest was better / comparable. And of course people are expecting Crucible to not go core unlike Harvest back in the day.

I wouldn't bet on that.

Yeah, I thought I am gonna miss Relics but they got nothing on Crucible Passive Tree outside of flexibility of Keystones you could get.

Almoust always bad? Someone had bad RNG streak. :p

Half of the people in the thread didn't caught the memo though.

I would love next League to be just as busted, but that is very unlikely.

Yeah, I wish information about how Crucible works was kinda more digestable (it really couldn't be more favourable to the player). But GGG likes it that way. They like when there is knowledge desparity. They like when people learn mechanics. They like when some people took advantage of something. They like it.

Sounds pretty convoluted.
