Also a quick season means a new paid season pass and so much more tiny paid stuff that adds up on their pocket. Plenty of people are stupid enough to buy their watered down mess, so sure they continue to offer the bare minimum or even less over and over again even during release days and patch days.

Why are we comparing a game that has had like 10 years of updates/patches/expansions/etc to a game that just came out. Of course it's going to be shallow in comparison. I was here during the first leagues of PoE and you'd have all said the same thing about PoE back then.

The game was garbage when it released. Endgame for 90% of the playerbase was docks, fellshrine, piety. You could barely do maps because they were extremely rare. Desync, no crafting bench or any currency we have now, no ascendancy classes, basic gems that were drop only kind of like ruthless.

We stuck by this game because there was passion behind this game and for the most part they came through and delivered something amazing over the years.

Now I don't think Blizzard deserves this same sentiment but if you think any ARPG is going to come out and offer the same level that PoE does currently your crazy. Even PoE wouldn't release like PoE is today. This game has slow cooked in an oven over the years.

Maybe D4 will get better in the coming years as PoE did when they add new content/skills/items/endgame etc. My guess is it won't but I could be wrong.

Go take a look at the total endgame scope of PoE’s 1st league. Actually look at it. Nothing needs to be justified here. If you wish to be outraged, go ahead, I’d argue absolutely nothing would be satisfactory in this joke of a comparison you are making.

Game's going to lose players over time as they finally wake up and realize that D4 is not the gem were hopping for. Bliz is going to push in a dlc for some content but will return pretty quickly to their old habits to offer nothing cause they don't give a single f about their games. But some people never learn out of the filthy blizzard trap. Heck even all the reddit dads and moms would have a much better time by taking the 70 bucks to touch some grass with their family instead of handing it over to Activision Blizzard for a filthy cash grab.

Meh, comments like this just highlight how completely different the more elite PoE players see the entire arpg genre. Idk if it’s intentionally obtuse, Blizzard bias, or just gaming naivety in general. D4’s launch was more than fine, with plenty of content & gameplay for most players. Easily a couple hundred hours. Will it satisfy the ravenous PoE enjoyer? Nah. That was never on the table. Is it perfectly suitable for millions of others? Yup seems so by all accounts.

Last as long as D3? Lol literally one of the most successful games of all time, 65 million copies, spanning over a decade and 28 seasons. Most every developer would kill to have the longevity and success D3 had. D4 will likely surpass that given their live service model. Thinking D4 will die or fail or whatever the fuck else, is quite delusional. Don’t like D4? I get that. I really do. But let’s not get lost in the PoE sauce here.

Was it? A lot of people quit the game quite early cause it was a mess during the early days. RoS brought back some life into the game but that only lasted a few seasons cause they returned to their habit of a ruining something fine working, and b adding close to no fun seasons or content after some seasons. Yes D3 was fun before it was a paragon grind simulator and that's already years ago.
D3 lasted over a decade cause Blizzard puts each of their games on endless support even if close to nobody plays it, best example for that is their moba game Hots.
But hey they don't even have the balls to share active player counts across all of their games lol.

It highlights nothing but the fact that not everyone is all over a unfinished and rushed blizzard product. I play a lot of different games and I've spent a good amount of time in various game genres across the board, so I have no clue what you try to imply. For the elite part you'd be a D4 elite player trying to force your opinion on others in this case. Or even a PoE elite player yourself giving that you've also played the game and still spent a good chunk of your time in the wrong forum. Quite strange giving to your own claim to be all busy with D4

Also about your "has sold so many copies" statement
Sold copies mean literally nothing because every new released game gets millions of copies out, but it doesn't make them a good game right away. D4 is not any special for that cause plenty of other games achieve the same.
Look at lost ark, it launched with millions of players and sold plenty of copies, yet the games been pretty terrible and died quick. Look at some of the new released triple a games with multiple millions sold copies but pure disappointment cause the game runs like garbage performance wise cause nobody gave it enough testing.

Hate it but some people are just tired of blizzards cash grab traps. The company caused enough disappointment during the last couple of years across all types of players and all of their games.
