op is mos definitely onto something here. d4 and blizzard should be condemned for charging industry standard prices on their games, even moreso that theyre price gouging new zealanders an extra 60 dollars for the same game

blizzard needs to understand why poe has become so successful over the years. not only did the gameplay supercede the original game, but ggg's pricing models have been on point, most notably the fact that this game is f2p. this means that players dont have to pay a single penny and they can totally enjoy the game as-is without suffering from any disadvantages whatsoever. furthermore, you can see from the mtx shop the great looking skins and theyre quite affordable imo. my personal favorite mtx is the harmony set, with the body armor being only 500 coins, or roughly $50. now i technically also need to buy the helmet, gloves, wings, etc for a full reskin, but it goes to show that you dont necessarily have to buy the entire thing if you just want individual pieces to mix-match the look and feel. and as for the lootboxes, whoever gets broke from these deserves it. something needs to pay the hamster to keep ggg going after all

what!?
PoE is at best a free to try, it is LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE to play this game without tabs, if you play in trade league you will need map, currency and at least 2 premium tabs, if you take the unique fragment tabs seriously, essences are also essential and it CRACKS EVEN MORE if you play SSF where you will have to accumulate even more resources and base items. PoE today costs at last USD 70.00~100.00 to be played without the right to ANYTHING since EVERYTHING in the game is earned by microtrading, and I'm not even going into here how much this game is p2w in the parallel market where all items and achievements can be bought.
I'm not naive and much less a bli$$ard fanboy, I can bet that D4 will have 2 clean months and then a shameful hyper monetization system will come. BUT to think that TENCENT doesn't do the same here is a joke

*Woosh*
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
The price is that high because plenty of people are stupid enough and willed to buy the watered down and rushed garbage these days.
Companies take advantage of it and keep new games on the bare minimum for a max profit.

Pretty much the same with the "remake" train these days. It's easier to copy and paste a old game rather than working on something new.

It's also quite disgusting how most games require additional full paid dlc's in order to fill in 200h of playtime.
Meanwhile old games kept you busy for a couple of hundred hours without any additional paid dlc for 40 bucks or even less.

But great content wrapped into a good all in all package is simply not something companies desire to achieve with their own games these days.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.
I like the price point. Hopefully it will discourage the free to play players from trying the game.
Gutting Gameplay Gradually

You are naive, I would outpeform you drastically with a single stash tab let alone 4.

Players at the very top can make statements like yours and from their perspective it is true, players in your position cannot you have absolutely no idea how little you actually need so describing it as impossible is absolutely laughable.

Yeah.....don't pre-order AAA title

But nowadays they are scummy enough to have journalist writing false review

I paid $90 bucks for pre-order so I can play on the 17th.

Compared to my supporter tags, $90 sounds more than reasonable for a tangible game years in the making, heh. Most good titles start off at $70 bucks now. Hogwarts Legacy cost me $80 bucks...

I can’t buy any more big supporter packs because the forum only supports showing 7 legacy tags.

I don't think ill buy d4 but if it was free to play with game cards you can buy at gamestop or something I might try it. But either way I know it'll be nothing compared to poe in terms of endgame so...
Imagine to spend +90€ in a collector's edition of a gaem that does not even include a copy of that gaem lmao diablo enjoyers lmao
