Stash Tabs vs. D4 game cost is fairly close. I personally think a reasonable amount of stash tabs would run about $50 if done during the stash tab sale, which is as predictable as the sunrise. 50 vs 70 is pretty close, especially since that 50 could easily be closer to 70 depending on your stash preferences.

I have 15 Quads, all the seasonal, 10 normals and I still don't feel like I have enough. Then again I am a hoarder. I would say 3 Quads, 1 Currency, 1 Map, 1 Div is the minimum to play this game effectively. If we are pricing that out, its 75.00. So essentially the same price, and you still have WAY less than you would if you bought a whole game.

New releases cost that much for a while now. Nothing new. Also what is up with the hate before the game even came out? I genuinely believe D3 was / is a very good and polished game for what it is without trying to be PoE. The same will probably apply to D4. As a consumer I am glad that different flavours within the same genre exist.
Fancy a PoE 2 beta key? Hit me up :)

Yeah, some people will never be happy - and will never feel they "have enough" until they have way too much. Not saying that's you, but... Ok, maybe I am.

Anyhow, we cannot compare D4's price tag with PoE's cosmetic prices, without factoring in that D4 has BOTH a pretty steep price tag AND cosmetics. AND a battle pass. AND tiered pre-purchase packs. And if the leaked prices on some of those cosmetics/packs are accurate, it's not really cheap over there either.

That's why I used the term reasonable before amount of stash tabs. Although reasonable is not a measurable thing, I would guess that 15 quad tabs is outside the range of what could be considered reasonably needed to play the game.
Thanks for all the fish!

You are complaining about a complete game costing 69.00 Euro when a SINGLE BACK COSMETIC costs $40.00 EURO here. You serious with this? This 100% is not the game to be thanking for being cost effective.
I mean it comes from the same guy who claimed was glad he uninstalled poe but here he is. He's rather all over the place.

Well I think you must also consider that D4 is going to be live service, so it's ultimately an initial access price. So it's not just the flat AAA price and then no post-launch service or content afterwards.

Their game shop is all optional items, and you don't pay for storage or QoL.

It's perfectly reasonable to me, all within the normal game launch pricing in the market currently. Personally speaking, I've spent over $3k on PoE lol. $100+ for D4 is basically irrelevant, or at least it's not a significant factor.

If people want to wait for a sale or its not in their budget, that's fine, but that would be true for any full priced pay to play AAA game.

hoho that's a bold claim.

This guy doesn't POE.
I own D1, D2 and D3 with all expansions (some bought on discount). I pre-purchased D4 because I love ARPG's. As for the cost... I've spent more on PoE which is a Free-to-play than I've spent on the Diablo Franchise as a whole.

I think PoE is superb game and I shown my appreciation by purchasing MTX... Why do ppl need to trash D4 before even playing it? If you can have 100+ hours of fun in that game, than it is worth that money.

Yeah, I don't find it tremendously unreasonable either - and I'll always understand some of the critique that stash tabs are getting. And while MTX prices in PoE are undeniable steep, I just feel it's very strange to compare the prices of cosmetic-only MTXes in PoE, with the price of D4, when D4 has both 'expensive' cosmetics and a full price tag.

They are/will both be live services. D4 has the price tag, PoE has the stash tabs. Now lets see if D4 can survive on cosmetics alone (as some people claim that PoE "should/could do") and don't charge you for upcoming D4 expansions.

While that's true, I was more comparing D4 to any other AAA game that may not have live service associated with it. I do think there is "some value" in ongoing seasons and content that's free after the initial entry price.

Edit: I've not heard about any paid dlc or expansions yet. So yeah we would have to revisit at that point, I agree.
