Do you like Lab? Well, Sanctum is basically Lab.

I love lab. I also know I'm probably alone in this, which I understand, but I do. I like the theme, I like the idea of side areas with traps and hidden rooms and I don't mind the traps. I'm not even good at speedrunning it, I just run it.

I also know it's not particularly rewarding compared to other stuff. I still like it.

Sanctum sounds nothing like the Lab.

Nothing.

You know what it sounds like? Sounds like Blight. GGG went "hey, let's turn the game into tower defense!", and it was terrible (if you think it's ok or nice now, you should've seen it at release).

"Let's make a roguelike!" they're saying this time.

Better brace for impact.

You're definitely not alone. Many like lab. I hate it myself but wish I liked it because I have to run it for each PoE character I create.

I just hate all those platform video games. I admit I played the frog crossing the busy street a few times but don't like that game either. The trap gauntlets in lab are just not fun to me. Some traps sprinkled around when fighting monsters is okay because I'm focused on the ARPG gameplay, kill-monsters-get-loot. Which I consider great fun.
Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired!

Release lab was a whole different beast than what we have now. I can forgive people who like the lab now.

I still don't see Sanctum's parallels to the bad parts of lab. Traps in the Izarro 3rd phase room are totally fine. They're integrated with the action.

2 1/2 screens worth of timed sequence traps that you cant see the end of, can't know what the switches do, and adversely affect ES characters (talking release lab here)...that's just poor. I didn't see anything like that in the trailers.
Archnemesis was the beta test for new rare monster mods.
Scourge was the beta test for beyond art.
Sanctum is the beta test for lab 2.0?

but really who are you kidding
you will no life this league like you do every other league and go 40/40 then complain after you brag about being 40/40 again

I just dont play when its not fun now

you need to expand your gaming son

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Before I heard about Rare mobs changes I was considering skipping League for the first time.

And we are beta testers.

No, resolve is just unnecessary layer of annoyance. Rogue-like never have anything like that. They are always about RNG, buffs, learning boss mechanics and surviving. Problem is death is meaningful part of gameplay in Rogue-likes, you are meant to die over and over again. Having to balance it for HC Leagues serves as huge detriment here.

Ever played Darkest Dungeon? Resolve is basically like the stress mechanic in that game. Pretty sure there are more games using something similar.

Anyways I just feel there is a breed of people like you complaining everywhere before they even had a chance to test something out. Honestly this is not doing yourself any good looking at things like that all the time. Not even mentioning how contagious that current age mentality is. I'm not the most optimistic person in the world either, but man try have fun, let things be what they are or do something else.
I do hate labyrinth since day one, and my initial reaction was also this looks like a new labyrinth, but not everything has to be the way exactly like I want in life. If I hate the mechanic that just means I go back to permanent SSF or go try ruthless, but it could well be a lot of fun and then I play the league. No need to take away my own fun just be looking through depressive glasses at future things that I have no clue about how it will feel.

Resolve doesn't sound like fun mechanic.
it cant be like lab, unless 1 floor is as long as a full lab wich i highly doubt.
I love lab!

Refers to traps and "boot out" mechanics.
Yea I love lab as well. I do miss my twice enchanted though to combine with the gift to the goddess.

At first I really couldn't stand it, but with how they have reworked it. Its a pretty decent experience to min/max some gear.

Or do when you're bored and have a bunch of project helms/boots in your stash.
Mash the clean
