Ruthless NDA is lifted, and feedback is largely positive so far!

Eh, kinda. Experienced players needing 11 hours to get to maps instead of 5 doesnt really scream "Ruthless." Again, thats just slower. I wont argue it isnt harder to some degree. But harder to the point of "Ruthless"?

Not yet at least.

They need to add a lot more unique mechanics, like bosses healing on player death.

Well, that one's in. Makes every boss fight feel a bit like Izaro.
Removing movement skills is another unique challenge.
I mean, even with movement skills I'm having a hard time to kill the Black Star, because when I have to energize the spheres, I know exactly what I have to do, yet I am not able to reach all of them in time, so I die.

In Ruthless, that would mean you can't even whittle him down over several attempts, because after dying he'll be on full life again.

You can argue that fewer drops doesn't actually mean harder. You just need more luck to find the right item or grind longer.

Then the problem is, what is really difficult?

If every boss had its own mechanic you'd need to learn would that make the game harder or would you only have to learn the mechanics better?

I dont disagree, but thats how PoE has been made. Learn the mechanics = beat the fight. Thats really how a lot of games are though.
Again, none of the continued feedback says more to me than "Well, if you wish the same PoE experience took about 60 to 100% longer, play Ruthless. Then you can tell everyone "Beat X boss, ruthless ofc.""
It actually doesn´t matter if its harder or easier,
the main population just wants to know where the most value of trade can be accumulated.

So oh wise apostates of the closed beta, please tell us blind followers of the faith where the markeths areth, or else there won´t be no rest in those sanctified halls for dammed be those who wander off into the forbiden sanctum, where looteth becometh worthedless.

so basically like console trade, which is what I'm used to. nice
I didn't think I was going to start ruthless, but I might now. Unless the new league looks really good then I'll want to start that and then eventually do ruthless. I have 5 days to watch streams/videos and gather information until it comes to console to decide at least.

people have reached maps? well i've lost interest, i thought it was going to be hard and mapping wouldn't be reached easily.

Yes high yellow maps, early reds from what i saw. The line "the campaign is the endgame" from the Ruthless announcement aged like milk.

People will reach red maps after one week ,maybe two, on builds that dont need gear, mule gems and farm gear for their main and make it feel like standard 2.0.

It is what i expected it to be. A slower start but once you get above a certain gear threshold it is the same old same old.

Totally agree.

Sounds like SSF Ruthless will be the real experience.
Let me in!! I've been watching, looks super fun.
Gonna travel the same path as PVP did.
slowly fade away
