support for widescreen............ummmmmmmmm no
" I wouldn't call it p2w but the argument is not as ridiculous as you say to be honest. Until I looked into it and saw some comparisons like these https://imgur.com/a/U7w13pC, it seemed that way to me too. Being able to see that much further away than players who don't have/can't afford one of these super ultra wide monitors, doesn't really work in online game with a ladder. The way they went about it was shitty but it was going to come at some point. Last edited by Dobster#5489 on Aug 20, 2022, 2:13:22 PM

There is literally zero competitive advantage in a game like PoE to having wider FOV. This isn't a competitive FPS game.
And the argument is doubly stupid because by that logic the 21:9 folks are still getting an advantage. This is just an illogical, indefensible, irrational move from GGG that benefits zero players and actively makes the game unplayable for anyone who has invested in a wider setup than 21:9. " https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-forum/365 It may not be competitive to you(and me) but to some, it is. Being able to see at minimum, half a screen each side further away than some other players is an advantage. |

" So why not hard lock the game to 4:3 aspect ratio and 30fps so everyone has the same experience? This logic is not valid. The 352nd character to hit Level 100 in Standard

It's called compromising between being fair and allowing for different levels of computer processing power and graphics/display setups.
Even if having a more powerful graphics card would give you an advantage compared to someone playing on a potato, that doesn't mean all players must play at the potato level. However, if only a very few people can play using ultra-widescreen to get a large advantage due to the huge additional screen size which even causes display weirdness (pop-in, etc) due to the game not being at all designed for that kind of viewport, then that would be crossing a line into unfair territory. |

" Well said. As annoying as it is for the users of these monitors, I think they need to take a step back and take a deeper look into it. Last edited by Dobster#5489 on Aug 20, 2022, 2:34:42 PM

" I repeat: if you think PoE users are getting a competitive advantage from 32:9 that is meaningfully different than 21:9, you are out of your mind and have no idea what you are talking about. The 352nd character to hit Level 100 in Standard
The 82nd character to hit Delve 1000 in Standard |

" It is an atvantage - and no, none cares if its "competitive". If GGG thinks they want to curb that, fine, i would make some kind of fog of war to hide mobpacks, so you can still enjoy the scenery. But then you would wine that you ultra wide screen doesn't show mobpacks am i right? ;) Current Build: Penance Brand
