The death of PoE is near. Diablo 4 is coming in 2023, before PoE 2!

I don't think POE is a perfect game and that Chris is a god. I've been very critical of GGG in the past with business decisions. I don't spend a lot of money on the game.
On console, D4 will be a massive success even if it's P2W even if it's crazy nuts PW2 like DI. It will make Blizzard so much money just like DI is currently doing on Moblie and PC. One thing D4 won't do is kill POE or POE2 (whenever it comes out). Will POE players buy and play D4? Yes. Just depends on how P2W it will be on how long people stick with the game. Or what endgame is all about. At the minute POE is king of endgame. D4 will be the game you play on your Xbox when you are chilling out in your living room. That's about it. Blizzard isn't planning to release a game with hardcore end game only a few people can get to and defeat. Everyone that plays D4 will be able to beat all content they release. |

PoE is already dead... has been for years... The absolute refusal to listen to their community has alienated the players year on year. It's their own doing. All that remains is a time-sink slot machine.
Do people really think 70/80k(1/4 of which are likely bots) is a success? After all this time? It's not bad, of course, but it can't compare. DI is an absolute dumpster fire, however, 10m+ people (literally 100x PoE's player base) installed it within days... The huge majority of players of PoE just copy paste the best builds and rush to maps and after a week quit. They don't care about complex systems and clever builds, they just wanna have a blast. DIV will satisfy these players and I can imagine a large proportion of PoE's player base will disappear for a simpler, fun game.

" Why is there a ? here, they did, but like all blizzard titles D3 was supported at an absolutely glacial pace and even stoics get bored after a couple of months with nothing new to work towards. D4 won't be any different in that regard, I'm sure those MTX dollars are gonna go straight into producing content quickly *rolls eyes* :p |

I think there will be room enough for both...
POE2 will be great and remain true to POE fans and D4 looks to have gone darker and trying to reclaim some of its darker roots... 2 very different approaches to the genre and to be honest I am excited for both. |
