The death of PoE is near. Diablo 4 is coming in 2023, before PoE 2!

if diablo 4 will be done corectly as fans are hoping, yeah, POE is in deep waters. I mean, even Lost Ark made a huge dent in the player base of POE, now imagine Diablo 4.
But if it goes the Immortal route, then POE has a very easy win

D4:
-Open World (requires mounts to travel the vast distances between different climates and landscapes) two layers of the open world, surface / hell.
-World bosses
-PvP
-150-ish end game dungeons (seems like each one could have an unique boss at the end)
-Pre expansion Grim Dawn character customization/depth( from Dev journal's paragon board & skill tree & stats interaction )
-Is not designed for the phone market and not P2W like Immortal but will have cosmetics microtransactions(this of course could change, who knows, but immortal is heavily disliked so i doubt they would risk it with D4 which is a AAA development and a premier game, largest Acti/blizz release in over a decade, but time will tell)
-Modern Graphics & engine
-Trade will have limitations (seems like a middleground between D2 & D3, best items will be BOA )

So unless they ruin it with some absurd P2W where even a mount will cost $$$ D4 is shaping up to be a great game, PoE2 is also looking good from the trailers so good times ahead.

Like what? The Ranger turning into an oversized NZ housecat? A spear skill that puts you into an animation lock that will get you killed? (Im guessing this will be tweaked?) A bunch of arrows sticking and bouncing off walls, that with attack speed will clearly be a performance issue.

Or maybe it's the Scion (or was it Ranger?) screaming everytime she shot some arrows with an empowerment skill enabled.

Then again maybe the new socket system will work out. But after all the years of gear getting socketed skills affixes, Im definitely eager to see how it works. (Squire we barely knew you)

The moment D4 will come out this game with its current "balance" and "vision", gatcha one-shots, uber-uber bosses, "trading", will be dead. It's easy to survive when there is no competition. D4 looks great visually, a little better than POE2.

The potential of POE about diversity is huge. D4 will never have such a complex tree. Sad we have 5 builds that are good for end content.

However after 1 year of playing POE every day, I decided to pass on this league because I don't like it.

The core POE might be good but its enough to have a bad league to make part of the community leave.

Looking forward for next league and POE2, with balance did for the community, not for the streamers.

I may actually give D4 a chance. I can't beat the maven, the memory game, poor floor visibility, and no life debuff is just beyond my capabilities. I think it's time to play other games that provide a measure of enjoyment, not some stress inducing waste of time.

I hate Blizzard, but if D4 turns out to be quality fun that's all that matters right.

All I see from D4 makes me think its not a competitor to PoE at all, but an alternative. It will be more different than people think. If that makes it more popular is anyones guess, but I for one would WELCOME some competition to PoE.

I am very unhappy with a lot of aspects of Poe. Finding something else to scratch the loot itch would be wonderful.

This is one of my biggest gripes with Poe. The potential for variety is staggering, but the realistic variety is painfully low. You CAN make a non-meta build work if you want, for 50 times the price, and poe builds are expensive and time consuming as it is.

Up to this league, I would argue with you, but PoE has become such a tedium, that it's simply not fun anymore at all. D3 is already more fun that PoE in it's current state, and I been playing PoE only since beginning 2015. Only started messing around in D3 when Expedition nerf league started PoE down this tedious shit state.

Hype is so pointless.

D4 could be the best game ever made or it could be complete trash, leave trying to see the future to astrologer nutjobs.
