The death of PoE is near. Diablo 4 is coming in 2023, before PoE 2!
" Agree. At this point i actually believe ,that the chinese partners of blizzard are more capable than blizzard itself.. It's amazing how they fallen trough the ground and are still falling.. Yet.. there are dum dumms who fill their pockets Diablo Immortal wise.. |

Tencent is an investor. Major shareholder ,but not meddling with the development of the game.( Yet.) Last edited by SteelfuryBG#1488 on Jun 12, 2022, 7:04:50 PM

Not this again. At this point I'm not even sure anymore if it's sarcasm or serious. But I think if Diablo 4 comes before PoE 2 that's even better for PoE. People get hyped about new stuff easily, especially hardcore ARPG fans because there's not really much to play for them.
Diablo 4 launches >> people play, get bored >> PoE 2 launches >> people switch to the new toy at least to try it out >> stay if the like what they see. And seeing how big of a joke Diablo: Immortal is, I don't have any hope for Diablo 4 or Blizzard for that matter, though healthy competition would be always appreciated. |

It's anyone's ball game. Blizzard can take the crown if what they release is good. I think we can expect D4's combat to be far superior to PoE's combat but can Blizz come up with something equivalent to PoE's economic system or better? Doubtful.

" Just repeating what they've said. And on this specific issue unless you have proof that D4 is pay to win (which is impossible to have unless you have inside information), then it's incorrect to state such as fact. |

" They have not said that. Blizzard is very careful and deliberate with their language about these things. With Diablo Immortal they promised players concerned about P2W than you could not buy gear in the game. That's true, the game released and you can't buy gear, but you can buy sockets for your gear and free to play players have daily caps that prevent them from progressing at the same speed. For Diablo 4 so far they had said the game is a full priced game, they will have expansions to buy, and the shop is "built around optional cosmetic items." They have very specifically worded this, they are not saying you can't buy power, they are not saying they are only selling cosmetic items, just that the cosmetics are an important part of their monetization system. Why wouldn't they just come out and specifically say "cosmetics only?" Pretty concerning isn't it? |

" That's what DI is. DI has been in development for years. It was originally announced way back in 2018. The only source material Netease had for this project was D3. There was no other creative direction to go in and Wyatt never said it would be D2 but Diablo on mobile which makes sense technologically it was a blend of mobile gaming (netease) and D3 (Blizzard). D4 is not being made by the Blizzard teams responsible for D3. This was a brand new team stood up to model the next Diablo after Diablo 2. The concern should be what they can't help themselves changing. Like the Uniques being divested from their unique power. That's an idea which comes from WoW. It likely won't go over well with the Diablo audience. So we'll see how bad it is. I'm not being overly optimistic. Just pointing out what's real and what isn't. If it's good the ARPG market will lose available players for years. You can count on that. |

" Blizzards last arpg has managed to get the worst user score ever, sure d4 isn't a mobile game and should not be monetized like one BUT they are going ever heavier into MTX, more likely they'll shoot themselves in the foot again. Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi
