If you are on the fence about trying Lost Ark I would recommend trying it as a F2P game. It will give you a much better idea of what the game is actually like.
The comparisons brought up on these forums can be very misleading. Lost Ark is a F2P Korean MMO with P2W Elements at its core. This will trigger some in denial but it is what it is, just depends if you can accept the lvl of P2W in it.
The lvl'in process is longer then POE for casuals and experienced players, with a higher focus on Alt farming to boost character gear progression. Endgame raids are usually party and gear focused so unless your in a good, accepting, patient guild you are out of luck for Endgame content in most cases as gear checks will be performed by most and bosses have actual mechanics.
In the end try it or dont but if you do you should soon see the glaring differences between the two games. Either way enjoy.

I like the game, I get the idea of keeping you in the game hooked up in the hoard stuff in your stash, but enough is enough...
Mechanic after mechanic they say it gets easier but instead is the same stuff with some new added rng calculations on top >.<...
P.S the new implicits are super fine but again, more RNG on top of already too much RNG.
It's like playing a roulette and when you finally win the league is over >>.<<
And to be honest it won't get better because the true end game of poe is the self of accomplishment which comes with the fact that you almost maxed your char and you do everything in the game ( which for some people is just a dream)
I can make money without touching the new league mechanic

poe league peak: 158k
24 hour peak this friday/saturday: 82,701
poe's weekend player re-spike never happened because of lost ark. elden ring is coming out a little over a week. this is probably going to be the single most dead league. what a stupid idea to release a new expac on the same month as 2 hyped games

Why do you think it is stupid to do so if it fits their business model and trends of player shifts? Curious what your idea would be? Wait for those games to release, hope hype dies down and people get bored etc? You think they should have done a Cyberpunk move?

GGG doubled down and buffed Act 2 this league too. Maybe they don't want to retain new players?

or release the new expac in january instead of dragging out scourge for 20 years? scourge known to be a shit league, lets drag it out great idea... i think i aged 20 years waiting for scourge to be over
