" The numbers just reflect how interesting and/or rewarding the league mechanics are. The same as last league with a similar dive of player numbers after one week. It likely does not affect you or me in our personal gameplay experience but it shows how expectations are met and therefore the numbers that follow. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore

I think we are about to have the number of players who playing PoE this weekend, guys. Hint: yeah it's still low.
The bottom line is not how much players still playing but how much they already spent. If loyal fans and random casuals already spent enough. I think GGG can sleep sound and well even if the league is a silent hill. |

" I disagree. Short time numbers don't "reflect" anything. Week-by-week numbers reflect more. Launch day had 270,260 players (new record, BTW). If today's numbers show you 70,260 peak players, that does not mean that 200k players have quit. Everything it shows you, is that they aren't playing today. A graph telling us how many of the unique players from launch day have been logged in and played each week, would tell us even more. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" Yeah you're hard on this pointless matter and got triggered. I guess i will leave here before the thread gets derailed too much. Have a nice day. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore

" Let's try to keep some sort personal shot out of this? You seem to input your thoughts in plenty of threads. That isn't even remotely the point, and takes away from what I was saying, and have been saying, for many many months now. Retention is a big problem. QoL, Game Bloat, Casual vs No-Life design space, Stream & Advertising priority, and more are hurting the game in my opinion.
Spoiler
On the streamer part, which is pretty OT for this thread, I do find it interesting that they have spent a ton of money this past year really pushing their streamer and game visibility, seemingly wanting to spurn growth, while simultaneously the game is more and more new player / average player hostile. It doesn't mesh.
So my thought on "some" hyperbole, is that the numbers were taken out of context. What the numbers represent isn't out of context however. It's a real problem, and we have entire multi-league statistics to back them up. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

" Its kinda true tho. Because when Diablo 4 comes out its gonne be so far from today we might not even play games anymore. Who knows if we gonna play games in 20 years. |

As long as TenCent are happy with the revenue GGG provide 43% of players quitting within a week doesn't matter.

People dont play every league and they dont play every day. I havent played in 3 leagues im here every day for this one.
Ive been playing off and on ( 1-2 leagues a year and i do 36/40 in most of them) for almost ten years now. PoE isnt hurting at all and 70 k daily players on a monday is pretty good also thats just steam numbers i have 3 people on my steam friends list playing this league that are not using the steam client. This thread is just outrage bait with no basis in reality and some version of it gets posted every league and its never been true before and it isnt true now. |
