Can Path of Exile compete with Lost Ark and Elden Ring?

" To be serious, I think Lost Ark and PoE (will) have a lot of overlapping players. Sure, one is an MMO, the other one is an ARPG. But both are about grinding, gearing and slaying monsters. Don't get me wrong here, I don't think we'll see a huge outflux in players, but I do think the games appeal to some of the same players. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

is this the same , very game that gave streamers queueing priority, customized servers and to certain degree stirred the game direction to fit streamers monetary needs? Yeah, it is.
LA will be a huge succes, tho i will not play it myself, as i am deeply invested into Destiny 2 and Witch Queen February expansion. Dunno how POE will fare against so many titles, maybe you should ask the POE streamers :)

" Why are you asking this? You sound like Chris Wilson's right brain rather than an ordinary player. |

" Because I'm curious about what people think? I don't remember any other league start with these powerful competition honestly. |

Lost Ark has very little hype and buzz for a game that is supposed to be a genre killer. I foresee a flop unless Amazon opens up the coffers and showers streamers with money for the first few MONTHS after launch (not just the first week.) Amazon abandoned New World so I don't think they really care if Lost Ark fails or not either. I hope it succeeds because GGG desperately needs the competition.
If 3.17 is an abysmal, unbalanced nightmare at launch it could push people to Lost Ark but I think they delayed it to avoid that worst case scenario. |

Lost Ark doesn't scratch the PoE itch but it is a similar type game that could take over players time enough they don't engage with PoE.
Basically its in competition for our time despite not being mechanically similar, the few friends I have that played PoE are all sitting out the league start in favour of playing LA for example and there is every chance they will end up skipping the league entirely. (The fact leagues are pretty much always bad until the first patch really doesn't help GGG in this regard) I'm on the fence personally, I can't see myself skipping the league but HC trade has a very fixed window you can actually get anything done in it before it becomes a graveyard. |

I don't think POE will die and i sure hope not, but i expect a league with 70-80k people at launch and will go down to 60 on 8th and down to 40 on 12.
I'm a plat LA myself and not even sure if i'll play the new POE league at all since lately...it's just more of the same and i'm not having much fun. But yeah, POE is not gonna die. |

" I think that's just the current league having overstayed its welcome. 3.17 is going to launch Feb 4, before pretty much any game in Feb that'll interest a chunk of its current audience, so the health of the launch will tell us about the health of PoE in general. Personally I wouldn't mind if the February games give PoE a bit of a shake-up. Competition is healthy. |

Lost Ark is a pay to win game.
Nuff' said. Affliction and Necropolis worst leagues ever. The current game design has slowly turned this game into a loot-shower fest, chase uniques are way too available; and obtaining chase items through stacked decks and valdo's boxes simply isn't fun.
