Armour isn't really driving any build. It's just become a necessity. Without it, you're pretty much a 1 shot on ANY build, even with 75/75 block without Glancing Blows.

Without something like 500k, you can't even do some Scourge maps without suiciding.

What's screwed up is arguably access to large swathes to the tree to both pick up Armour, Spell Suppression, Fortitude, and even a decent amount of EVA for Iron Reflexes without trying too hard, because of the fact Thread of Hope has no Cap on useage.

Armour is where it needs to be. Some other defenses need adjusting.

There's always low league participation when the league revolves around a new mechanic rather than new loot.

Breach and Vaal expansions were also extremely low retention. Talisman and Perandus both had higher retention than both Vaal and Breach.

It wasn't until people discovered higher breachstones that Breach became a mainstay, and people used to hate vaaling and most Atziri drops were useless until a Prophecy made the shield a must have. People hated vaaling just as much as scourging, if not more, until drop rates massively increased and crafting became easier, and Atzoatl was added.

as in like: the one exception being a pair of gloves worth 4-5 mirrors. kind of an important little detail you glossed over

edit: and on the subject of talisman having higher retention -- if a league is that shitty, then its going to have higher retention solely due to the fact that standard players make up more % of the entire playerbase, and the % retention of standard players is more or less static

Those gloves weren't 4-5 ex until recently, and were an extremely common drop.

NVM that any Youtube I watched wasn't actually showing T16 with high damage per hit bosses. They were showing Yellow or lower bosses hitting for 2500 damage at max, when we all know bosses hit more.

Furthermore, no demonstrations happened vs Bosses that don't Hit. Try that strategy vs Woad, Mockery of Man, Suncaller Asha, the Goddess bosses, or Shock and Horror, or Kadaris. Those exiles will die instantly.

It IS a semi broken mechanic, but it tells me Pathfinder needs modified, not the on Hit Flasks.

You may have missed the Hiltless version? It (supposedly) works also based on hitting an enemy.

Pathfinder does have issues. However IME GGG typically doesnt distinct in such cases and nerfes all parts of it. So its quite possible they will nerf the flasks and the Pathfinder/Ascendant/Champion.

There are few things more obnoxious than threads calling unnecessary attention to nerfs. Too many people responding here makes a case for either an idiocy epidemic or a Stockholm syndrome one. Ffs!

i disagree, i think its better to come to terms with the actual reality of ggg nerfing things that don't make sense. however it is predictable and thats what this thread is for.
