@Vennto "It's correct to balance around the top tier players, as you can always improve to their level" Aham. Please tell us more.

What I mean is that game balance issues should be balanced around top tier players, as other players potentially can improve mechanics way more than any level of gear can make up for. The suggestion the game is too hard, stuff is to difficult, etc., comes from a place of missing game knowledge.

A few examples to iterate my point:

1. Yungroan finished the first awakener kill of 3.16 after roughly 12 hours in SC Trade. If you as a player take a playtime of 7 days, then it is not the right way to "reduce atlas grind", as you can improve the time by 80% with just better game knowledge and more effective play.

2. When Darkee sais armor is too powerful after finishing the entire game under very agressive mods in the Zizaran Gauntlet in under 2 days then this should be taken more serious than if an average joe who is missing key compontents of a defensive concept while also not being able to dodge mechanics manually mourns about still dying too often.

3. When tons of streamers show how to make 4ex+/hour in different ways then the comments of people saying the trade economy is still too grind-heavy should be taken with a grain of salt.

That´s my point - people ask the devs to cater to their shortcomings rather than to improve upon them. To clearly state this, I make this in bolt: I am not denying at all that time-investment is a part of this equation and that casually gaming people will never get the same results than people doing it professionally. But, and here is the big kicker - it is only one variable, and most likely the only one people are concerned about while others, like knowledge, creativity, mechanical skill, strategy etc. play an even bigger role when it comes to the core principles of PoE (aka clearing stuff and making currency).
Lastly, any other game that is played somewhat competetively balances around the top-end as it should be, I dont see why poe should be an exception of that.

We're seeing the results of that. Lowest league participation in ages. Time investment is the only way to "improve to their level". I would wager that 99% of the player base will never be able to get to that. That means if you balance for them, a majority of the players will eventually quit.

The 99% pay for this game, not the 1%. This is a way to destroy the game. You need to balance for the median. Wherever that may be.

One of the biggest factors in success is how well you take criticism. Just saying.

everything that was used by more than 5% of the playerbase like every single league

probably all of the cool uniques that they added that kept people interested as well, can't have that

need more nerf so harder to get end game, therefore more retention.

logic that!

Still don't know why people keep using this one there is shitloads of stuff that gets heavily used that they never touch

Then while they are busy trying to ensure that all skills are within 1% of each other for god knows what reason they add things like spectral helix, give it an attack multiplier higher than practically anything else, give it an attack speed bonus not a penalty and let it multi hit.

Why? Because its garbage to use? So are strike skills they haven't had 500%+ effective damage since molten strike which we all know what happened to that for overperforming.

Honestly i'd love to have a chat with the design team about how they reach their numbers because i'm convinced the only answer i'd believe when told is does it really matter? Lol

Let me remind the community that they took alot of negativity and regardless they still shit on entire builds by changing the talent tree and constantly nerfing the shit out of everything that was somewhat fun.

cuz "muh game has too much pOwEr CrEeP". So it's not a matter how they "take criticism" or not.. they just don't give 2 fucks at this time looks like for about 3-4 leagues if people is following this without being yet another brainwashed npc.
Don't be a poe stan. Use your fucking brain.
This thread seems plagued with discussion on how the streamer plays vs. non-streamer plays. I would like to just point out that the only big difference that streamers have over non-streamers is that they usually go into these 6man MF parties. They do 6man delirium tower maps t3 versions and run in and literally have loot filters that only show exalts, doctor cards, and Headhunters.

I personally watch Cutedog as he is a funny streamer. But, the league that his tower farm group got banned (empyrian). It took him almost 2 months to farm the HH. That is usually the amount of time it takes for the normal person to farm a HH.

In conclusion, don't think like these streamers are some out of reach GOD tier players. they are just grouping and gathering and not telling their exalt making secrets.

Tala Moana, Exile.
But...but...they are making such huge investments...! :-D
