In 2022, we would have a lot of H&S games. Will PoE survive it?

PoE
Rest is trash, but the diablo easy mode players, that come and whine on forums might be gone.
lost ark is never coming out lol

Nonsense. You'll be here for PoE2 and quite a few leagues after that. We really have no idea when that's going to drop. Could be with 3.17. They love to surprise us. Or they could use it as a carrot stringing us along for years to come. We simply don't know.

But you'll be here for it.

I really wonder if PoE2 will fix the lag and disconnect issue?
Will PoE2 fix the unfair one shot mechanics?
Will PoE2 fix the graphic cluterfack?
Will PoE2 fix the character progression instead of just mindless currency farming and trading for stuff you need?

Got surprised how bad 3.14 was.
Got twice surprised how even worse poe can be in 3.15.
3.16 seems to put last nail in the coffin.

Dont you think its enough of surprises so far? xD
No game, let alone another ARPG, will ever do what PoE has done. Will trigger the exact same mixture of ecstasy and agony in portions almost certainly calibrated to encourage prolonged if not exclusive usage disturbingly close to the highs and lows of more quantifiable addiction.

As such, people are far more likely to quit PoE because of how PoE makes them feel than for or over any other game.

Blessed are those who knew to stop playing before they had to go through the process of quitting.

If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.

i'm not a big path of exile fanboy, to put it mildly
but i have to admit that these games represent no threat to path of exile
i would be more concerned about path of exile committing a suicide through Vision(tm) implementation

imo, the damage that was done by recent patches (after 3.14, 3.15 mostly) was comparable to damage that world of warcraft classic release did during blight league (30-35% of playerbase loss), and it was far bigger threat than mentioned 2022 games combined

the game is already in a bad shape, so some more nerfs (even shady ones like in 3.16), more bosses health and less players damage, less build diversity, less respect of players time, more HardMode(tm) things, more challenging acts, resources scarcity, more Vision(tm), more gambling instead of clear progression and we will be able to see the wreck

^this
POE2 should be the ruthless vision experience and POE1 should be the zoom power fantasy sandbox to capture both audiences.
I petition to return all the fun stuff that was removed or nerfed over the years back into POE1.

amen. (even though i'm a disbeliever)
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
Last epoch maybe, planning on trying it once I get some empty space on games-backlog.

However, really not impressed with lost ark. I play diablo-like games solo, always and never been fond of mmos where you click to move and camera is from top.
To add, amazon as publisher and heavy korean p2w vibes.

To think of it, outside cs with friends, I think I am done with multiplayers..

The small, vocal hype of Lost Ark is absolutely laughable. It's simply another Korean MMO attempting to make the jump to Western markets. It will likely be dead by March.
I don't like MMOs, and don't play any other ARPGS. PoE is still, to me, interesting and enjoyable. Not quitting any time soon. And I'm another old fart (62, female). No problem.

WTF is H&S? Hack & slash?
😹😹😹😹😹
I do not and will not use TFT.

Last Epoch won't release for a long time. A lot of major features are still missing.

Lost Ark is an asian MMO with an entirely differnt dynamic and progression. That's not even the same genre.

Undecember is something I had to look up. It's another game from the asian market. It's F2P and has a mobile version. I'd be surprised if they didn't have convenience stuff for money. Also no global release which means it probably won't release for the western market in 2022.

So why wouldn't PoE survive? Because of the whiny loud part of the community that will try out Last Epoch in 2024 or something and get hardstuck at lvl90 over there too?
