In 2022, we would have a lot of H&S games. Will PoE survive it?

Ah the Mayan calendar thread. Or was it the y2k thread?
Second-class poe gamer
Elden Ring in 2022 will keep me away from Wraeclast for many months.

I get it. Burn out. Bloat. There's dozens of good reasons to be looking for other games. I am too.

But to blame PoE's demise on some other game launching is laughable.

yes and no
seemingly a bunch of people are just suffering through PoE because there are no alternatives. so, the launch of such an alternative will draw away large amounts of the player base. which is exactly what GGG anticipated, as to why they delayed their one launch around Cyberjunk 2020.

will a single games launch cause the death of PoE? absolutely not. but will it for players who prefer to play that game over PoE? absolutely.

again, think of it on subjective terms and not objective.

not every single person looking for a different game will flock to lost ark, or whatever else. however as better games, or preferred games are released, those players that are sick of what PoE has become will leave...if they haven't already left.

i've already left. i don't need something else to pull me away from PoE other than PoE itself. why? because im not addicted to PoE. if it turns into something i dislike (which it did), im gone.
Probably. There are plenty of people like me who can only do one thing at a time and im capptured by poe
Git R Dun!
I think LE needs a few years of development before it deserves to be mentioned. LA will most definitely "make a dent" on PoE player numbers, but the question is "for how long". It all depends on the endgame, longevity, replayability and how often they'll push out content. You can say what you will about PoE's flawed league system, but it does bring back players.

But there's been lots of "PoE killers" in the past. Some made a temporary dent, others went by more or less unnoticed.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
i'm not a big path of exile fanboy, to put it mildly
but i have to admit that these games represent no threat to path of exile
i would be more concerned about path of exile committing a suicide through Vision(tm) implementation

imo, the damage that was done by recent patches (after 3.14, 3.15 mostly) was comparable to damage that world of warcraft classic release did during blight league (30-35% of playerbase loss), and it was far bigger threat than mentioned 2022 games combined

the game is already in a bad shape, so some more nerfs (even shady ones like in 3.16), more bosses health and less players damage, less build diversity, less respect of players time, more HardMode(tm) things, more challenging acts, resources scarcity, more Vision(tm), more gambling instead of clear progression and we will be able to see the wreck
dead game
bring back 3.13

This.

Difficult gameplay > difficult character building with hours in POB but easy gameplay.
I don't think those new games will kill poe.I also think no game is infallible too.And poe seem to become less fun and popular at least in my circle of gamers.

I can't speak for other but for me I'm giving them a chance in 3.17 then I'll leave for good until then won't spend a single cent on the game
Nonsense. You'll be here for PoE2 and quite a few leagues after that. We really have no idea when that's going to drop. Could be with 3.17. They love to surprise us. Or they could use it as a carrot stringing us along for years to come. We simply don't know.

But you'll be here for it.

I really wonder if PoE2 will fix the lag and disconnect issue?
Will PoE2 fix the unfair one shot mechanics?
Will PoE2 fix the graphic cluterfack?
Will PoE2 fix the character progression instead of just mindless currency farming and trading for stuff you need?
