In 2022, we would have a lot of H&S games. Will PoE survive it?
Who's we kimosabe? I doubt I'll be playing video games at all in a year or two. I just don't have the enthusiam for the sport anymore. I raced motocross same deal. Dont even own one now. Things get old other hobbies pop up. Like now I'm into learning how to build buggies. Weldiing aluminum clean (factory welds) is taking me awhile.

The fact I have never heard of Undecember already says enough. Funny how people keep on claiming PoE killers are on the way, while it is practically impossible to have a game come out with the same amount of content. And if they claim that, you know something is off, most likely balance (*cough* Lolcen).
I'm up for trying everything close to being an ARPG, but deep inside we all know they are all fillers at best. |

I thought D2R was going to take down POE. Did I miss the funeral? Or was it Grim Dawn? Or Wolcen? I've lost track of all the games that were going to take out POE.
Thanks for all the fish!

" There's generally two camps of players: 1) People who think euphoria and/or ease creates success in gaming. 2) People who are institutionalized, addicted to a concept, and perfectly realize that and are fine with it. I know I know..... Overgeneralizing. But which one has held true for the last 20+ years of gaming? Oh. |

Already uninstalled, looking forward to Undecember and Last Epoch 1.0.
Feels good, man. You don't realize you have Stockholm syndrome until you escape... No more online casinos for me. They won't change until they really fall, and unfortunately, maybe not even then. Oh, well, things always go forward, out the old, in the new. |

I uninstalled as well. Endless Heist with it's slow, tedious leveling killed my interest in these events. Tweaking the atlas will not be enough for me to return to POE in 2022.
Last Epoch(when they add multiplayer) and Lost Ark have my attention in 2022. We don't have enough info on Undecember to judge what it will be like when it launches in the west. But it will likely be much better than Wolcen. Chris has done a pretty poor job of communicating since this league launched and lost a ton of players. Last Epoch devs are like the new GGG. They've earned my loyalty. |

Honestly ffs I just wish PoE would make it easier to level alts... not easier, but less time consuming. Give us an alternative way to play- doing all the acts over each time gets monotonous. I would honestly be more likely to play more and check out different buids and experiment if they made some changes here.

The belief of a greener grass on the other side is always strong. Personally, I can't stand the eastern art style that heavily influences both Lost Ark and Undecember, so that grass doesn't seem very green to me.
I have no doubt that Lost Ark will make a dent in PoE numbers. How relevant that dent will be, is yet to be shown. PoE will of course survive. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" I think it'll mostly draw the same crowd any pretty MMORPG does, more than Diablo or POE. The speed and skill structure is too similar to Final Fantasy XIV, or WoW, even if it can be played solo. Characters have up to 160k HP, while often taking 40 damage from mobs. That should tell you something about who it's designed for. |

For the content-wise PoE is 1000 miles away from any other ARPG game and it's still speeding at 100mph.
PoE Has: - Fresh leauge every couple 3-4 months. Reasonably large amount of new content, and mechanic. - End game overhaul(Atlas) every year. None of the other arpg games does this. Most of them are buy to play. They are releasing a content once a year. Even if they do amount of content can not match with PoE league and their mechanics are shallow. Even if some people release a very good Arpg game with perfect mechanics, itemization, combat experience it will be consumed in 2-3 weeks and poeple return to PoE. I dont think any other studio/publisher can maintain and release a large amount of content and new mechanics that GGG can do. Even Blizzard cant do it. For the GGG it takes years to build this business model. (Sell MTX tabs, release large content) and GGG had a big adventage there. Market was empty (thanks to Diablo 3 messed up) there are no competitor. There was no game to compete or reach... |
