"Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds."
Having watched the 3.16 announcement, my top 3 remain the same.
I feel bad for the OP. Virtually no one played the game and just used the thread to whinge and moan. Tsk.

It's not like adjectives are advanced grammar...is it? Wait, should that be "are they"?

3 downsides to PoE, posed in adjectival form:

1. Disappointing -- No one yells "Tenebris!" when they use a shield bash;

2. Deficient -- The game doesn't have a shield bash, only a charge and a throw;

3. Derivative -- "Heavy strike" is mostly just a copy of D2's skill "Bash".

I mean, you only gave me 3. It'd take me at least 30 to really get this pot stirring. And that's ignoring the ones Support would have to remove.

If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.

1- Exp Death Penalty
2- Trade existing
3- Developers-as-gods philosophy
Is nothing wrong with the game. The game has a little bit of things for everyone. The problem is me . I am lacking the mechanical skills and mental discipline , to play the whole content properly .
1- Game drop rates are balanced around trading (I know it may sound crazy but i prefer getting things myself)

2- Lack of reasonable way to access content without relying on trading

3- Balancing game around ever-changing vision. Changes are important but some changes are simply bad for a game no matter what. Jumping between "now we make this game enjoyable for hardcore casual players" and "now we make this game only for super hardcore diablo 2 fans" is an example of bad change.

1: bad items drop, 999999999999 rares in maps 0 worth picking up
2: nothing to farm on maps other than currency and barely that aswell
3:lack of info inside the game clunky af systems 0 quality of life and everything require alt tab to a 3rd pary tool because you dont show even basic info about the game
One:
My biggest issues with PoE has been the amount of grind with a temp league when people have long work hours and have families with young children. As time goes on in my life my playtime has dropped a lot and i struggle a lot with leagues not able to do everything i want during the 3 months but i am really on the fence about going to standard when i like league restarts.

Two:
One shot mechanics are too chaotic and random no matter your health/defence/etc which deters me from hardcore

Three:
Leveling multiple toons through the acts all over again. I wish we could just jumpstart to tier 1 maps after we beat all 10 acts the first time in a league as i feel it would speed up things a lot for many of us who hate going through acts all over again.
1. Mundane - No PvP integration with the world. Much of the game feels very scripted in the end game. Aka mapping.
2. Binary - You're either a tank or toilet paper defensively.
3. Torture - NPCs that never shut up.

Those come to mind for negatives. These are the positives:

1. Pretty - Seeing D2R for a bit and coming back to PoE I have an appreciation for the graphics.
2. Smooth - Ditto here. The modern ARPG engine cannot be understated.
3. Builder - This is a great game for people who like building avatars.
