PoE time has passed

3.13 is a different matter. This was something purposefully created over a very long time interval (look at when powercreep started to rise) They had to know exactly what they were doing. Powercreep was not some foreign concept to them. They could have stopped it at any time and just progressed laterally, its not unknown to do so. Instead, by their own choice they proliferated it. More people started coming and enjoying it, and they just kept going with it. In doing so they built quite a following , and they benefited greatly from it.

Now they are unhappy with what they built. Ok . I get that. I am not going to reiterate why I think they did it, i've said it enough times. I also sympathize with the folks who just want one hardcore game in the gaming universe, and want everyone else excluded. Chest beating and all that stuff, I mean I get it. but what percentage of people in 3.13 were doing feared or sirus 9 or maven?, or even uber elder. What percentage is acceptable to people in order for them to consider the game "hardcore"? I guess I will never know , but it would be interesting to find out. Hope that answered your question as to why I am what I am right now.

I agree with you on almost all points made here. 3.11 was a fun experiment, 3.13 was a total fail - and a lot of bad decisions were made.

You didn't really answer my question, though. You clearly can find fun in the game without Harvest. So you leaving the game is some sort of protest? "I don't want to take part in this rollercoaster"? Which is fair, I guess.

To me, it's all about fun. I'll save my principles to real life. If I'm having fun, I play. If I'm having fun, but despise some of their decisions, I'll play for free. If I was to quit every game the moment a developer did something bad/stupid, I don't think there's many games left.

I'm a simple dude, I guess.
Acknowledged. Principles for me , are not Ideals I can turn off and on. I guess a politician I am not. Anyways I won't be around here much longer anyways. peace.
Sorry wrong thread.

We started taking the "cocaine" in Perandus. He doesn't shine today because rares have become much more powerful and the chase uniques have been reduced to two or three.

He removed "want".

Most of the leagues since have reduced "want".

This game thrived on "want".

Harvest gave you access to pretty much anything you might want in an item... so I agree it was a huge mistake.

I don't agree that PoE's time has passed... but I definitely agree that it's hit a snag in its development. Give them time to work out that snag. Maybe they can. They have to stop trying to make players happy and excited with each league. That's unsustainable. Lateral progress is much more healthy for a game like this. Remember D1? The expansion of it didn't add to stuff after the end. It added an optional act in the middle. It wasn't a great addition, but it didn't ruin the game. The game itself was still popluar.
Think u are replying to me (but I moved my post to another thread).

I don't think PoE time has passed.
I do think, tho, that GGG strategy of development which worked very well 'till now, has passed indeed.
What's the strategy I'm referring to you may ask.. Thx for asking ;p
They NEED to stop developing the game implementing a new broken power creep each league to appeal people and then nerf it. They should try appeal people by making new interesting mechanics, iteration, bosses without raising the power creep each league.
They have risen people this way so they should expect people getting mad if they don't get their dose of power creep or if they do complete a map 2,4 secs slower.
It's GGG fault if the playerbase right now is how it is.
Seriously, rare items were not broken enough? We needed the elevated mods? Pre elevated mods rare items were 38382948 times better than 99,99% of uniques. Why the hell we needed the elevated mods? Just to appeal people with the new shiny big power creep.
It's become chaotic and psyco this game development, with no middle ground. We didn't have a time were no power creep were implemented and no nerf happened.
We went straight from elevated mods combined with harvest item editor to the giga nerf of this league. Again, no middle ground.

Seems like a waste of time, but since you already have 32 pages of it (according to your post history), I guess it provides you with some emotional relief.
I'm not hard to please afterall.
Not even close , I have 215 pages of forum posts.
This game has survived 9 years and the best is yet to come...

The best from who? PoE has hit rock bottom by nerfs and performance issues, year after year. Build variety is non-existent. Performance has finally improved this league, not sure though, could be due to playerbase decline and less workload on their servers. In anycase, PoE 3.4 was the peak of GGG game design. Sadly those days for TGGG are long gone.
This game is the long con. As long as new players come in, they can con them for a while until they realize what a dumpster fire it is. They will go and new fresh meat will be the new con.

They con them into playing hundreds or thousands of hours while paying zeroes of dollars for the privilege. This is probably the most insidious, evil, damaging, and immoral con to ever be pulled on humanity. And these players think they're having fun! What a bunch of fools!
