GGG, Please stop misallocating your resources. Prioritize the game-breaking problems.

You guys are hitting it on the head.

This game is meant to be an extreme investment of time and effort eventually rewarded with item drops and/or lucky crafts.

How fun can a game that requires so much in be if you are always anticipating the next server-side issue to take it all away.


It needs to be fixed. Now.

This isn't an issue thats akin to a single guy posting about a problem because of some weird hardware configuration. A lot of people (including myself) have been experiencing desync, to a gamebreaking degree

You realize that many players don't come on the forums, correct? And that someone being affected by desync just means they are more likely to come complain about it, right?

My point is, There appear to be a lot of threads about desync, and a lot of people who experience it, in relation to the number of people who come to the forum.

But that only makes sense because people who experience desync are more likely to come complain on the forums than people who don't.

It makes the situation appear to be worse than it actually is.

Just for the record, I don't experience desync very often, unless I get caught in one of the usual places (Submerged passage and the like) with mobs, or I have a 500+ ping due to my crappy internet. It's usually at a 60ms ping when it isn't being crappy.

Other than that, I don't experience it, ever.

1. Forum Population is a subset of Total Population
- Fact! Although you are unable to quantify in numbers.


2. Desync Victims are a subset of the Forum Population because "people who experience desync are more likely to come complain"

- Subjective and nonsensical.

Q: All Desync Posters are Desync Victims. All Desync Posters are Forum Population. Are all Desync Victims subequently Forum Population?


A: If you answer yes, you are wrong. If you answer no, then your entire argument is made a priori.


3. Because the Desync Victims are a subset of the Forum Population which is a subset of the Total Population, the problem is much smaller than it appears.

- Subjective and nonsensical.

Hypothetical scenario :
1,000,000 are Total Population
300,000 are active Forum Population
100,000 are Desync Posters

Q: Can you derive the number of total Desync Victims from the above data?

A: No.



Your argument is subjective nonsense derived from your own personal in-game experience. I'm glad you don't experience desync -- but a whole lot of the rest of us do.

I'll give you a simple answer to what you said. If you believe that to say "People will most certainly complain about bad things happening to them" is nonsensical, you are as far removed from reality as possible while still being able to function in it.

I also like how, when "either or"s are used, one of those is never the commentator being wrong. It's always "the other people" being wrong.

Out of the entire GGG staff, how many people do you think know how to work on netcode?
