Is anyone actually going to stop playing?
Yea, so the patch notes and league mechanic would have to be absolutely amazing to play the new league. Just feels wrong that because people were using a Discord server to abuse Harvest that everyone gets punished because of them. They need to keep Harvest the same and just account bind items that are crafted in Harvest. That is the solution that will absolutely punish the people who were abusing Harvest, and have no effect on the people who were using Harvest as GGG intended it to be used.
Or.. well... They stay on track to make high end crafting only available to a tiny fraction of people, disenfranchising a huge chunk of the player base who can't spend 12 hours+ a day farming currency to slam away on failed crafting attempts. I really need to find a new ARPG to play soon, that is becoming obvious. |

Doubtful.
We tested it extensively

" Not playing a game for a year is called quitting a game for a year. people need stop thinking that leaving and coming back means you did not quit. If you stopped playing a game without a plan to return later. that is quitting. it doesn't matter if a year down the line you decided to go back. This is especially true for a live service game in which balance and content is fluid. Last edited by Saltychipmunk#1430 on Mar 12, 2021, 9:27:07 AM

I'll play the next league but probably much less playtime. We will get the baseline gear like we did in Harvest 2.0 but the next item upgrade is going to be 250ex instead of 50ex and ppl are going to drop like flies at that point.

Most def i'm skipping next league.
Game became such a time sink like never before. I was already turned off by that and Harvest nerfs just tipped the scale for me. |

Ive already kind of stopped playing to any serious degree (not because of harvest changes but that might add to it).
My reasons: 1. The game is too bloated with currencies. Yes, there is such a thing. 2. The game is too bloated with systems & mechanics from previous leagues. Yes, there is such a thing. Players get pulled in 100 directions unless you put 100s of hours into each league every year since beta. Its daunting, overwhelming, and exhausting trying to keep track of everything. 3. I honestly don't think the boss mechanics are that great. A lot of it is just spammy flashy FX that one shot you. Yes, you move from a die beam, or gett in a bubble, or avoid this or that. But a lot of the deaths people experience are bullshit. 4. From #3, too many effects and not enough clarity as to what killed you. How many times do you replay the vid or watch a streamer replay his death "Oh man I didnt even see that, its buried under all this other bullshit". 5. Lets be honest, the moment to moment gameplay in POE is horrible. Its the worst out there, worst than diablo 3 or Wolcen or anything else. One click screen clears, speed meta...whatever moves you through a map the fastest while killing the most mobs the fastest is the way you go. Its boring, its non interactive, its not visceral, its completely lacks imagination. ****6. This speaks to the general direction after harvest changes, although I somewhat AGREE with the harvest changes... I respect that the game wants to be very difficult, but this does cater to a specific audience: Typically one that can spend 3-5 hours a day, every day, every league. Sadly, for my own personal reasons, I cant do that. Not taking anything away from people who can, so please don't count this against me. Its just my personal reason why I am distancing myself from the game. But I also take my fat wallet with me(You know, because I have a career instead of POE and video games for a half dozen hours a day). GGG wants the "true" POE experience to remain accessible to only the tryhard hardcores, and thats fine. Thats the decision they are making but it effectively phases people like me out.**** So there you have it. I've been struggling to stay interested in leagues for longer than 5 minutes to a few hours. The lack of creativity in the laagues doesnt help either. "clear out XYZ mobs, collect loot and new currency". If I play, its because im bored out of my mind or I thought of an interesting build. But thats becoming difficult. Games like Last Epoch are coming out at some point, Diablo 4 (lulz, I know...but still)... Im hoping POE2 creates a massively different gameplay experience and not just overhauling a few systems. |

" Last epoch dude. Everytime I see a new post from them, its a fantastic improvement to the game. Problem is, they dont have a launch date anywhere in the future. But the game has a ton of content. |

One thing that I just thought of that I feel players and GGG forget about when approaching new leagues and content:
Fun. I know its a three letter simple word but are people so simple minded that they associate massive RNG grind and barriers to break down as fun? What happened to creating league mechanics that are actually FUN. Ive said before, that the moment to moment gameplay experience in POE is boring and bland (one shot screen clears, zoom zoom across the map). But Instead of creating more barriers to entry, annoying bland bosses, increasing grind, and removing any path to fun gameplay...why doesnt GGG focus on actual fun league mechancs. Not as simple as breach or ritual, not as complex as synthesis. Betrayel. Was. Fantastic. It. Had. Personality. It. Required. SOME. Thinking. It. Was. NOT. Too. Complex. It was fun as hell and I played almost 400 hours that league if Im not mistaken. |

Yup, i won't play next league.

" I did plan to return just did not know when. Unlike D3 I swore off and never even loaded again. I never play anything else in the hiatus either. Just had no time. It inda funny really everyone else had tons of time in this shutdowns I had none due to responsibilities. One thing was our main competition retired to Florida (were excavators and right of way clearers) and work doubled as we took as his work. Git R Dun!
