For most of the people who left, Diablo 2 was the last retail game they ever worked. A few who did stay in the industry worked on games that received mixed reviews. I was pointing out that they can't be as "competent" as you say they are if they can't produce another quality game.

Hell, I'll go so far to say that they were the weaker members on the D2 dev team.

I was agreeing with him in a way. He stated that the people working on D3 worked on D2, I responded that all the competent people had left already. A reasonable person would infer that I agreed with his statement, but disagreed where I thought it was headed.
