Real Money Auction House RMAH for poe

give the ability to vote up or down on comments, and then give the ability to easily see the top rated comments in any given thread. then whoever has the best points will have their points recognized, and the argument can move forward.

that being said, how many people actually care to see what points have been made before they want to share their opinion?

because you are so important that we should look at all your previous posts before responding to something you say?

lol get over yourself man, the only one that should be embarrassed is you.

*shrug* So you're the type to enter a conversation half-way and make everyone already knee-deep in the discussion repeat themselves just so that you are up to speed?

Who needs to get over themselves, sorry?

I would count myself a fool if I spoke without atleast keeping upto date with the topic at hand.

But let us look into you current arguement and we find that "you and the majority of those commenting now" are no longer on a topic of RMAH at all, or are just throwing in their un-informed/up-to-date opinion's, that could have easialy have been avoided being posted in doing so.

The topic is now.....

"Let us vote up and down on comments"

"Who actualy caqres what has been said"

.....And those are completely off-topic.

Along with this thread,

as

1) The topic is concluded(Except for a few fussing over small stash details).

2) this is a "currently" off-topic discussion that does not apply to PoE currently and as stated possible never will.

And as such, this either belongs in a suggestion section or a off-topic section......

the fact an admin hasnt moved it yet knowing this, is a bit irritational.

peace.

When I see a Thread 36 Pages long, I just go...

Derp?

Its obvious it causes far to much controversy, unless 90% of these posts were +1's (for whatever god aweful reason).

There is

A. Absolutely no point in continued agruement circle jerk on this topic as it is clear there is no winner.. though it is clear that RMAH is dumb ( <-- bad at acting neutral)

B. Anything that manages to rack up 36 pages of multi-paragraph long rants on each page, is not going to get approved by a company ever.. Gee.. wonder what blizzard was thinking..

*cough*

Nuff is nuff.

Move time onto more construction stuff.

That's the problem with threads that balloon to 30 pages over a course of several days. Most people start repeating each other because they can't be bothered to spend hours keeping up with them. And among the people that do, they are either emotionally invested already, or become so in the course of spending so much time, decreasing the overall rationality of the arguments.

I'm not entirely sure what the solution is, but it will get more and more of a problem as PoE gets released and the community grows in size. As with any decently sized community. Long threads are never coherent, and it's not clear what to do to keep threads on controversial subjects short.

If I make a thread, I tend to it. Sort of like a gardener, but with a lot more ego. Every response I answer, even the troll ones (I can't help myself, they're stomping on my flowers!). My last one got to 140+ pages and I think it remained really quite coherent and rational. That took work on my behalf though. A lot.

You can't expect that of everyone, of course. Not everyone gets quite the same kick out of discussing this stuff as I do, especially with such diverse people. Repetition is inevitable, like you said, and repetition is inevitable. I think as the community grows, the forum is going to have to grow with them. There's a lot of work to be done with these boards. A LOT of consolidation, for one. And the mods will almost certainly have to start being more active in locking threads that say the same thing.

The problem with that is you get one or two massive threads that say one thing that no one wants to read the entirety of. Well, I would, but I'm nuts and have the sort of job that mostly allows that.

...Also, I've just realised how off-topic this has really become. Maybe this is part of my grand scheme. But not really. I'm just doing what I always do: answer as I see fit, appropriate to the contribution.

Anyway, yeah. As I've said before, this ride can't last. The forum's been awesome, many great things have been said and shared, we have some great locals. Newcomers post their experiences and are welcomed. This cannot last. Not only is repetition inevitable, so is the degradation of community integrity with its inflation.

No getting around that. I'm just enjoying this while I can. Sooner or later, I expect to see more and more posts about posts rather than the original topic, and I expect to see them on the first page. And a lot of them won't be very nice.

For the second time, I bow out of this thread.

People are going to sell items on third party sites anyway. The decision is whether GGG are going to endorse it or actively pursue shutting down sites that do it.

Well yeah, there is always the same situation with d2jsp and Blizzard decided instead of trying to shut down these illegal third party sites they'd just provide the service ingame to save the headache and make themselves a pretty penny on the side.

Your logic makes my brain hurt.

By adding a way to buy items in the game for real money that eliminates people farming?

What in the hell are you trying to say here because if my understanding is correct you're retarded.
