Hey, I'm for the life of me trying to keep the discussion on RMAH and the related quibbles, as they pertain specifically to GGG and Path of Exile...

PS: How would you manage to trade between two accounts? I mean, I know that GGG has said in the past that there will be some way, but I can't tab out (to have multiple copies) without being disconnected from the servers, even if it's only for a few seconds, so unless you have a 2nd computer (at which point... uh... money. Power. Etc. Chickens, sky falling, etc.)

Trading in the future should be available entirely through the website.

Users have reported being able to login two accounts currently... I'm sure they login both using windowed mode.

It's also possible that in the future you'll be able to mail items to other accounts, then switch.

I have an amazing idea.

How about, "you" give us a "Customised" EULA that would solve the majority of people escaping the EULA. aka a "fair" ironclad contract implemented in a legitimate way into the game :).

I mean, as an insurer, this would be a great thing to do for so called "Philanthropy" as gamers would be much appreciative aswell as the dev's I would guess.

It seems very possible, as you and I have made very clear(As all the people's escape goats that have been used to wrigle out of the EULA are correctable).

And we both agree its a much stronger case with PoE, as in comparison to others.

So it would end the bitching here +D because it would be a win-win situation for everyone and then people can walk away from this thread knowing a viable "alternative" to the implementation of a RMAH.

I would like to point out that giving customer's the contract in a "free game" when they make an account would solve this for the most part.

Or

they can just use "your idea" and re-do the contract upon purchasing things in game "everytime" they buy something.

As was stated much earlier in the discussion, its probably harder to make money with a RMAH than you think. Once real money is involved there is a whole host of legal/ethical issues plus its not trivial to actually code and maintain this stuff. Especially the maintenance and the human support. Now pharmers really don't need to care; GGG does.

I'm not a contract lawyer, and it would have to be a different EULA for every state in the US, every country that's not the US (and possibly different states/regions/etc within them, depending on how law works there.), and so on.

(Knowing where a contract may be difficult to enforce isn't the same thing as knowing how to make that not be the case.)

But, as you say, the way I would start is making you agree to the EULA when you register for an account, before you download the game or buy points.

RMAH/EULA.... GGG, lets see what you decide to roll with.

But for heavens sake, we would appreciate you putting in the effort and not going down the RMAH route....As we all just want a frigun standard "A.H"... and for you to keep the farmer's away by making the farmer's and seller's to scared to even try. :) Because "we know" you can now.

(Just IP block the places where you cant do it, save us some time.)

They've already said they're not going the RMAH route. Why does this keep coming up?

The whole "paid stash tabs" thing raises some concern for me too. It seems that at most, non-paying players will be inconvenienced. However, slowing a player down means they will have less time to grind for exp/loot, thus putting the paying player at an advantage. I'll agree that his(Agentdave's) solutions would be wholly unworkable, but he is raising a serious point.

As this whole topic is a projection of what is not the current, but is a possible future.

(Even though the dev's say its not going to be put in place. I have seen more supposidly honorable people change there minds at a later date)

And as such, this was the general discussion.

But it is totaly "off-current topic" of this game. And as such I still agree we should move this thread to "Off-topic".
