Content Update 3.12.0 -- Path of Exile: Heist

Yet another league when half of the playerbase will run necro.
Like fcking cmon we want kinda balanced game. I want to play something off meta but most skills are really underpowered.
I'm unhappy about amount of changes to skill values.

I'm happy that you nerfed Assassin but there is QOL thet necromancer have. Well you butchered QOL of brands so why not necromancer?
I get what they wanna do with curses and some changes seem nice for a less 1 button zoomzoom playstyle, but damn, did they secretly nerf a bunch of stuff while at it. Enfeeble nerfed again for starters and marks on kill effects are kinda unnessessary; the quality providing on hit is way more important if they are intended for bosses (which they are). And punishment not having corpse removal/explosion anymore as was implied before.... pity. It might actually feel good for dot builds since 88% more damage at low life which even scales with doom effect could really reduce that last wait time. Less effect on bosses ofc, but 33% of 88% is still roughly 30% so yea.

Massive curse overhaul with no changes to occultist is kinda odd though. I mean, i will play chaos or cold build most likely, but rip curse bois that wanna do lightning, fire or phys and go non-crit/es.
If spellslinger is overpowered for leveling, nerfing it at low level as you did is a good sollution. But why nerfing it at high level ? I mean, 25% instead of 20% at lvl 20, plus all the mcm of support gems, become really too high...
They were many "ok tier" builds with it, but only one was really too strong - vd. And I seriously doubt that vd will be impacted in any way by this nerf. Vd was strong before spellslinger and will keep being too strong after it. But, by the time, many cool builds that weren't op are dead now.

About curses, well... occultist ascendency has nodes arround curses, giving it a something to interract with doom could be a good idea but no.
All the new stuff with curse changes revolve arround manual casting curse and build doom over time.
But, if we invest skill points / stuff to curses, we gonna have more than one curse to cast, and we'll never gonna cast 3+ curses manually. So it means that new curses mecanic arround doom gonna be great only for non curses specialists... Sad.
On another hand, doom build over time but new gems consumme doom to increase their effect, meaning we are supposed to... cast an hex, wait doom to stack, then cast hexblast / another hex to trigger doom blast ? 'cause if we cast hexblast / trigger doom blast without waiting, we don't have doom yet... So, or we don't benefit from doom, or we have to cast curse, do something to wait, detonate doom, meaning at least 3 config, +1 for each additionnal curse... Sorry but it really sounds creepy as f***...

Was really hyped but indeed well... they're still good stuff in this update, don't deny it, but not hyped anymore since balance patch...

Why on earth have GGG nerfed totem builds, capping out self curses to 8 from 13 means the soul mantle provides less damage via self-flaggeration.

I really wish GGG would use their brains a little. I get with the separation of hexes and marks, that this had to happen mechanically, but all they had to do to compensate was buff the numbers of self-flaggeration. The fact they did not means they either wanted to nerf totem builds (yeah, they are so op right...) or they didn't think the changes through and test. Clearly it is the latter.

Cant find 8 curses cap

And where do they say self flagellation will still work with soul mantle? They said Soul Mantle was modified to apply hexes, but didn't mention any change regarding self flagellation
Lots of people loving drama here I see. I think is impossible to please everybody and do the perfect balance that everybody seems to have so many and different ideas about, so with that in mind they seem to do a really good job in my opinion. They try new things, they fail, they try again and all that while trying to consider our constant whining all the time. And I think that is the fun of this game. Try a random build that you never played once in a while, try to build one yourself, fail and learn something new. Don't you dare to compare this game to how boring Diablo 3 can be (seen a couple of comments).

Think something is too nerfed? Don't play it
Think something is too op and that is boring for you? Don't play it
You get your fun from quickly climbing the ladder? Too bad but use the OP one above.

After all these questions I am pretty sure each league you have something to choose from.

Assasin: 3k ehp speedclear sc glasscannon

GGG: lets take that "cannon" part away

Trickster: 12k ehp speedclear hc dominating god of everything

GGG:

Meanwhile in Harvest;
22% of the builds; Assassin
22% of the builds; Necro
8% of the builds; Trickster
and then dropping...

So two ascendencies to rule em all eh

Dont look at what sc speedclear plebs are playing.
Look at the hc race ladders. Thats were real power shows, bc thats were actual all around good builds are needed. You know builds that take into account every aspect in poe. In sc you can just run around as 3k glasscannon and die 5 times per map and 22% of players are ok with that. In the top 100 of the recent hc race we have 32 tricksters and 1 Assassin.

HC 100 players kekw

Looks like 44% of those necros and assasins will vote with their vallets now.

Who speaks about the real power now? ;)

Its about "Make fun not grind" afterall.
those 44% of players are in fact only 44% of the players that reached 97+ , so 44% of maybe the top 0.5-1% of the whole playerbase. So even if those players "vote with their wallet" nobody would care. But those players are actually that kind, that will play the next "best" clear speed build their favorite streamer tells them to copy.
I care about actual game balance. Thats why i look at HC builds, because thats were actual builds are made. Because thats were good defense is a actual factor in build strength, and not just pure dmg and speed.
Not looking forward to finding out how strong the doom on monster hexes will mess with our "capped" resistances now while leveling lol

I am not fan of nerf to Watchers Eyes and Assasins Ascendancy nerfs.

Wathcers Eyes Legacy are going to be mirror priced.

Assassins Ascendancy min max wont be so exciting as it was now.

Imo its better for us players to buff other stuff and try to overwhelm those things you want to nerf ggg. I would appreciate that better.

Normal Assassin with 8 charges with end game gears + Diamond Flask.
500% crit multiplier -> 471% multiplier
Crit chance 98% -> 94%~

Around 8% dps lost.
Big deal lol... (When you already do 20~30 mil dps)

Sin has strong survival mechanic too but it's untouched.
Only tiny dps nerf.
Sin will have 40% usage on Ninja next league at week 3. I'm calling it.
Especially when self cast is as strong as ever this league.

Yeah the assassin nerfs are not much, its still totally fine. Its just pretty laughable that there are Assassin nerfs at all and no Trickster nerfs. It just shows lack of research and care on GGGs part.
