Harvest could be worst league ever?

"
Really no one who has played POE for any amount of time disputes that Harvest Crafts are very powerful. It is the implementation that has been the problem, it is not fun and especially before the patches it was a mess.

The folks that are bashing the league for not being rewarding are wrong, the people supporting the league saying that they don't care how tedious and unintuitive it is are wrong to assume that doesn't matter.
Don't get me wrong. The Garden and enemy encounters are bad and I fully understand that perspective. It's just that people keep saying just flat out incorrect things like this quote here:

"
casuals will never farm t4 seeds, so you are full of fake news
Where 90% of the crafting is done with T1 and on occasion T2 seeds so for the most part casuals don't even need to bother with T4 seeds unless they really need a fractured or Synthesized item.

most casuals cant even be bothered to set up the garden in the first place since its so tedious and time consuming
Lol people are still arguing about this POS of a league ?

im not seeing any major rub points, i've read through all 92 pages of this topic and overwhelming feedback is that this league sucks big time, garden is boring, mapping is boring, though an additional crafting options provided by the harvest mechanic are very good, but still not enough to compensate a total lack of an actual arpg content.
dead game
bring back 3.13

To preface my post, I decided to give this shit league a second shot. My goal was to hit 36/40 to see what the league could offer. My inital impression of the league was that was total shit. Upon playing more, my stance is more so "this league is bad/underwhelming". So it's a slight upgrade from before but not by much. There's too many flaws with the league that I ran into, which I will go over below:

1. The garden setup was a bad idea. It put a very negative first impression of what the league was about and most people ended up copying someone else's garden anyway.
2. The flow of the harvest mechanic is not stable. In the beginning you're starving of lifeforce, but once your garden matures you start overflowing lifeforce. There was no middle ground or any period of transition, it just happened like a flick of a switch. I personally stopped feeling starved of lifeforce after I collected all 32 watchstones which is WAY too long of a wait. I literally harvested only 1 batch of t2 seeds up until that point. The feeling of starvation in the beginning is once again going to put a very bad first impression on players.
3. You can't self sustain seeds. If you have a garden that holds 3 batches of t1 squares, you'll almost never fill up all 3 squares of any color if you just play normally. And because you can't self sustain t1 seeds, you won't be able to sustain t2+ either. Because of this, it feels like you're only interacting with the harvest mechanic once every 4-5 maps, which is very underwhelming.
4. The overall droprates of currency this league was horrendous. I am 36/40, I have never seen an exalt drop. I've seen 1 or 2 divines drop. If I compare this to last league, I averaged 1 exalt drop every ~30-35 maps.
5. Some of the challenges were very poorly thought out. The winged scarab challenge especially. This league is promoting self play yet you're never going to finish that challenge by yourself and if you choose to buy your way through, it costs 14 ex because the scarabs are giga rng gated. I personally bought a full field of vulture seeds with all 3 blossoms in hopes of creating the winged scarabs myself. That costed me 5ex, I ended up with 1 winged scarab. That's how bad it is.
6. Oshabi takes too long to spawn. You need to harvest a t4 seed, then do 100 maps. I was 34/40 when I spawned her for the first time.. today. That is too unreasonably long of a spawn timer.
7. The crafting itself was alright. I made 2 good items which is great and all but I felt nothing when I finished crafting them. It just felt like the league handed me free stuff for no reason. It's the same feeling when people talk about participation trophies, I got something good but it felt like I really did nothing to deserve it. The crafting process was a long derministic grind for seed crafts, which reminds me of korean mmo style of grinding. Aka, the kind that isn't even fun.

Overall, I think my original assessment of the league was pretty close: it's not good. There's a lot of flaws with the league. It doesn't help that the previous league had huge pack size and drop rates. So no matter what, the league coming after delirium was going to feel empty, but on top of that harvest was a resident sleeper mechanic and the drop rates were plummeted far below average. The transition between delirium and harvest was thus not smooth and instead ended up being a drastic flip of gameplay experience. I think this was the biggest factor in the harvest hate. More specifically I think harvest would have been better recieved if metamorph came after delirium then harvest after metamorph. You can't just put 2 polar opposite leagues side by side and expect people to not notice.
Simply said Harvest league is boring. The garden feels like a browser clicking game. Delirium with all its problems was way way better.

Pretty much this. The gardening is totally unnecessary and boring, having to manually set up t2+ batches is a real pain but the actual somewhat deterministic crafting is warmly welcomed by me.

I've already said this in another thread, it would be much better if it worked like beast crafting. Garden patches could pop up randomly on maps with grown monsters, monster tier could be based on map tier and rarity. You kill the monsters, they drop loot and life force and unlock rewards they can give now. Then you could select the craft you have unlocked and have the required lifeforce directly from the UI just like with beast crafting.

It would be a much better overall experience.

OP - It is player seed related

I think I've had 8 natural ex drops and the rest have come from selling crafted gear or 6Ls. You farm chaos recipe, regal recipe, and work on your bonus objectives. If you do that - you will get drops to sell/use to get the gear you need. Yes it is a grind - but it is not a korean MMO style grind the likes of a Maplestory or anything crazy like that.

With that said - the OP made some great points about the seed drop rate still being low. I can't maintain 3 t1 plots and it makes my t2/t3/t4 farms take forever due to a lack of life force. With literally the last 6 leagues only in maps - there are entire days I don't see more than 1 blight or 1 delirium encounter. Then there are days where I have blight and delirium all day long. It has been over a week since Zana gave me anything other than rare red maps to choose from.

There are opportunities to improve the rng of these encounters and I don't think it is by making Harvest go core only in maps. I actually like Ghazzy's idea of putting Harvest in Delve. Otherwise - Delve seems antiquated now because the rewards have nothing (other than Aul's) over any of the other content. If you remove the crafting that Harvest enables players to have access to, you are going to probably lose additional players who found it to be a huge quality of life improvement to simply buying gear from others.

YES!
No Alteration orbs/Skills&Ascendancies from 0.1 that remain broken in 0.2/Drop rate of greater & perfect jewelers/Rhoas being locked behind a dex requirement

But the game already has all kinds of mapping content though?? Just slap on some scarabs or delirium orbs, throw in master missions, extra packs from sextants or prophecies, random 10% mechanic like breaches or blight or metamorph and so on. It's actually ridiculous how packed the maps can be should you desire.

Total lack of actual arpg content, go and run 100% delirium map with all sorts of scarabs, sextants applied. See how lack of content there was.
