Harvest could be worst league ever?

Delve was also tied closely to mapping, which was my point. The community wasn't ready for another endless dungeon league mechanic that competed with their mapping time when they just wanted to Delve more.

And yes, I'm pretty sure it was meant to be something like Delve. Both leagues you did maps to be able to access more of it, and you can eventually lead yourself to special reward zones and bosses, and it introduced new methods of crafting. Synthesis also used the decay to replicate the urgency that the minecart and the darkness provided. One could argue that was an inferior take (I like Synthesis a lot better personally, having to stop to do every forced encounter that lasts for a minute or two really killed any love I had for Delve), but it was definitely an attempt at a Delve 2.0 that was rejected by the community.

I think if Synthesis or another Delve clone came out today, it would be much better received now that Delve is a fairly old mechanic.
Delve wasn't really closely tied to mapping like Synthesis was though. Synth cared about the level you were doing and all the junk. Delve just needs you to get sulphite and then you go and progress. Though Delve would have been better if maps weren't involved, and it just replaced the endgame as a deterministic option.

It's an average league, it's the first attempt and giving PoE real crafting options.

it doesnt even look like a league tbh
its an additional crafting bench with horrible management additions
crafting is still rolling the dice
only alluring options i see are target exalts, other gear crafting options are more or less chaos/fossils spam

Yea it's not a good attempt, but like it's better than anything else they've done. One day they may realize that actually having crafting is good.
You know, I'm really starting to wonder if the "W Knight" accounts are even accounts of "real people" any more.

To have the ability to defend this league really requires something special. I mean, just the whole concept from the get go was odd. To take an ARPG and try removing the "A" ?

Never have I been more pleased with a decision, than the decision not to even torture myself by succumbing to the temptation to "just give it a go". The break from playing has been quite refreshing, and reading all the rants from the sidelines without being stressed myself (for once) is very amusing.

I really hope the next league goes back to adding the "A" back into ARPG...

Mind you, they haven't done a "Casino" league yet... (JOKING, PLEASE DON'T)
I loved Path of Exile.
I do not love Path of RNG.
Bloom gives me migraines, the over usage of darkness strains my eyes.
Save our game, remove all of the constant RNG and allow us to turn off Bloom or give us an in game brightness control!

Why is the "A" missing from this league? They added Delirium to core. They added more monsters, more bosses and a (for some) rewarding crafting system. Does crafting belong in an "ARPG"?

Is it less "A" because you have to set up your trove for about 15-20 minutes? Are you letting those 15-20 minutes define the league?

Is it less "A" because there's no more monsters in maps than last league? Again, you have to a certain degree the power to add whatever you want to maps, including last league's mechanics. So the "A" goes away, when a league doesn't add MORE monsters and MORE loot than the last league? Wonder how this would end, in a game already called "cluttered" or "bloated".

Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.
I don't find a lot of reasons to play this league. Harvest is the worst I have played to date.
One add they could do is to at least give a pack guarding the seed pod like the guards of a shrine. Nothing "challenging", but at least give some more drops.

they could've added 8-10 "seed strongboxes" per map, with different rarities, modifiers, and added seeds autopickup. to start with. that would be MUCH, MUCH better. simple changes yet their impact would be very significant. probably i would be playing the game, not fucking hanging around on the forum while waiting for d3 21 season start. what a shame.

I think it's a tie between Synthesis and Harvest and it's unproductive to look for a "worst league" between the two. These two leagues are opposite sides of the same coin when it comes to game design.

Whereas Synthesis had too much going on with its mechanics and would have been even worse without the data leak, Harvest has too little going on with it. I don't even mean monsters, necessarily -- it deeply lacks interactivity. At least with Synthesis, there was the maze, there was the board game that one could sit down and try their hand at if they were into that kind of gameplay. It was still riddled with deep issues, but it was something.

Harvest is too hands off and also too deeply focused on crafting to the point that the most simple and profitable way to play the game is to sell crafts to other players on Discord. Synthesis after the fixes at least tried to have other kinds of rewards. But with Harvest, why not just get into selling physical merchandise on an auction site at that point? Real life money would be a lot more fun or useful to the player than any exalt. Better yet, why would someone not just play another game where the game is the content rather than having the game be the selling of content to other people?
