Why nerf dual wielding? Whats the point of it now?
lots of melee builds was not op or meta. So dual wield was only way to play and do some damage with minimum viability for hc ssf. They move that 20% dmg to rall cry from dual wields. but you have to cast that cry just to be at same dps as before until you have 6 link and use shield. Shields shine when you have 6 link, a lot better dmg+defense than dual wield even with 20% damage. (it so bad for me, because no way i can have 6 link at start and it is so long)

I have to use cry to kill rare or magic pack. Rall cry is not really compensation, (cry just to deal old damage before nerf). Maybe intimidate cry with +1 and second wind can be better?
Good : This league very fun, i like it a lot more than delirium or metamorph. Pure arpg not my passion. Garden is nice. i have 5 link on item with added fire damage support. Almost 6 link. Wind dancer is great for survivability. 20% less dmg taken if dont get hit. 20% more evassion if get hit recently good for dmg over time or heavy boss hits. Sad: dmg do not feel good even like that with trash outdated weapon. i only managed to go act 6 with 1400 hp while peoples with meta builds already 95 lvl, just crazy how cruel that dual wield nerf. Those who do not think how bad is a nerf just did not play ssf hc. |

it really sad that they cant do new league without making game worse with wrong ballance changes :( Fast melee builds was not op, actually they boring slow compared to meta.
If you look at ladder there is only necro and trickster. Did not even finish story with dual wield build yet, so boring. Maybe dual wield should be not only 20% more dmg, but also 30-40% move speed when hit recently(or when fortify) to be competitive with necro. Tired of that game design where game so trash if you play fast melee. Dont like two class meta even more. Slow builds is a joke if they dont nerf meta by 50% at last. People want to have their cake and eat it to. I remember a time when people were complaining about dual wield being too weak, and had no reason to go for it over sword and board.
The tree has had many iterations since then. Dual wield is as strong as it has ever been. No need for the bonus anymore. At endgame that 20% more is not going to be the crux that breaks your build. There are so many more multipliers its ridiculous. 2 handed will still not be the most played, its not zoom zoom enough for most players. Playing melee was never fun in poe especially the sirus fights and now they decided what we have to play. We are players we play whatever the f*** we want. " Dual-wield is not as strong as it's ever been, someone missed the whole stat stick era... And there have been multiple buffs to monsters since then... My hollow palm cycloner was my primary boss killer during delirium, despite the fact that I had a herald stacker with gear that valued more than double his own. Health buffs have definitely pushed the minimum damage threshold higher, especially with fights like Sirus at the forefront. Cyclone was not a "zoom-zoom" build, pretty slow with a limited clear given its radius was reduced at the end of legion (amongst other things). You see, the thing is, when they nerf things, it's never JUST one thing. Not only did my hollow palm cycloner lose that 20% MORE multiplier, which in reality are limited (since most increases are "increases" and thus additive), he lost 2 split personality jewels which provided well over 100 str and 100 dex that were further scaled. Then you take compensating for the loss of stun or other ascedency changes depending on class... But even worse, the now legacy starforge that has the old increased physical on the higher damage base essentially does less than his delirium counterpart. Tree changes also further reduced the further output along with defenses. Vaal Molten Shell lost most of its protective use and was the primary protection against heavy spike damage. When they really want to force the player in a different direction, they undermine multiple aspects - which in turn affect any other builds that use even a partial aspect. Yep, totally over league play.

Basically GGG has no idea how to balance, instead of buffing stuff no one wants to play because it sucks they destroy everything else and say "see its good now its close to the stuff you like right?"
Its like going to a nascar race and everyone is getting ready but some guy rolls up in a pinto, instead of getting that guy into a real car they rip away everyone elses race cars and give them pintos saying see that guy has just as good a car as anyone else! |
