Exp Loss is freaking unbalanced

This is actually a really good idea.

I'm assuming you don't have a character 70+ yet. When you die past level 70 you lose hours of progress where 99% of all your deaths are due to desync. Please don't insult people just because you disagree.

You are assuming bad:

I only play hardcore, not default. I play during the game mostly alone, normally only join party for farm exp (docks, and so on), or ocasionaly with a friend.



I got:

lvl 78 EB summoner witch
lvl 76 CI summoner witch
lvl 70 shadow double totem + traps
lvl 72 RoA ranger
lvl 57 Cyclone 2 hander Marauder (my first melee, very fun, can't wait to level him up more, he's currently at prison in Merciless)

All in hardcore, all —till date— alive.



Not counting short races, I only RIP once, a level 30 witch, my first character in open beta (I didnt know the act3 and died because of wrong resistance wear). Since then, I made all those 5 characters, zero deaths. And I don't consider myself even remotely close to some of the amazing players out there, I consider myself a random/middle one.


So this is, in my mind... 4 characters +70 level.

Also, take into account that, for me, dying is not -15%, dying for me is -ALL because if I die, I reroll character.


And I think the game is fine as it is, you only die if you make mistake or got bad luck, just its my opinion. So I think -15% exp penalty is fair enough. People should learn to play without dying, its all. And remaining alive and taking care to monsters and not dying (in default) should be optimal, and thus prized. So, exp penalty deaths are necessary, imho.





Also, sorry if you felt insulted, you are maybe right here. My last post was intended to be sarcastic and ironic, not refering specifaclly to this topic and didnt pretend to insult anyone, just being fun; it was just about all the whinning in forums in general since open beta started specifically. I just pretended to make a joke.


Anyway, I think the solution I posted should be the better one. One newbie (no offense) league would be awesome. But please, don't destroy the game as hard as it is. There are other easy ARPGs there. Don't make this another random one.

OFC you are right in the desync issue. I really hope they can manage to fix that thing, its the main problem of this game currently. Many deaths are because of that, I agree on that. But for me the problem is not the exp penalty; the problem is the desync itself. One must stay, the other must leave.


Just my opinion.

In 10 hours you should be able to level up several times from 70. If it takes you 10 hours to get 30% then the death penalty is not really your problem.

No one needed to read any more after this list.

Summoner, summoner, double totem, ranged, and finally, the RUNT of the litter a MARA (safest melee class due to hp nodes etc) the only melee, who's underlevelled compared to the rest.

If you're going to try and leap over one pitfall, don't end up falling into the next in the process.

Oh there's assumptions goin on in here, and it ain't the ones claiming there is.

Well mate, I also dont play in the NBA, and got OPINION about things there. Same with some laws in some contries, I got my opinion about it, as well as yours. I don't think there is something wrong with it honestly.

Anyway, I played default in closed beta too. And I don't know if maybe I will play default in the future (I got some friends that never play hardcore, so who knows if I'm forced to make default character to play with them someday, in the future). And, with my experience in this and other games, honestly I find it better with exp penalty than without.

And this is the reason why I have my own opinion. Sorry if having an opinion about it disturbs you. I don't care much, but very appologies for my big offense.
