Exp Loss is freaking unbalanced

Did you never reach lvl 70 yourself to see how much exp you lose in 1 death? I play for 10 hours exp grind, then die 2 times to desync(GGG's fault) and lose all that exp gained?

Why do I lose 10 hours because of your problems?

Pls explain how you will adress this problem.

I am pretty confident that dieing twice at lvl 70 does not lose you 10 hours of play time. Exaggerating much?

I agree OP. In fact, I think that since I've read on the forums many times that one can learn quite a lot from death in SC that we should be getting an XP bump, not losing XP! And the level of the mob should determine the amount of the bump regardless of my current level. If I rush headlong into a room full of completely OP mobs (i.e. rare dogs on docks...or rare dicks on dogs...or dicks in dogs rarely? w/e) without any consideration of whether or not I'm the appropriate level or appropriately geared I should be rewarded ffs. If I can't faceroll every single area in the game regardless of my build I shouldn't be punished...GGG should be punished! Why the hell should I be forced to use strategy and grinding (the cornerstone of any shitty ARPG IMO) when I can just keep using portals to go back over and over and over again to try and whittle down a pack or a boss or clear a map my toon is clearly not ready for? That's B.S. with a capital B., period. Well, a capital S and two periods as well but you get my point. It's not freaking fair. I mean, sure, I could grind until I level up and then run maps or clear difficult areas or kill boss mobs which would reduce my exposure to the XP loss from death but why the hell should I have to do that?!? In fact...GGG should just make every toon I create level 100 and load me up with GG gear and currency and make me mayor of Wraeclast. Fear the Mayor beyotches!

Question though...am I being facetious or sarcastic and is my tongue in cheek or up Chris Wilson's ass? A clue on the last part of that...Chris and his RNG whore hate me and yet I seek their approval. Don't judge.

Bullshit, if you farm 10 hours at level 70 to get 30% XP then you're doin something very very wrong. Now if you die at 90 that's a bit of a different story but I guess we won't ever see you whining about that cuz its gonna take you what 100000 hours with your awesome grindin skills...

This is exactly why exp penalties are bad, no matter how you swing it or try to justify them in any game. Especially when you get into mmos and mmo like games( i consider POE to be a quasi mmo). throw in lag, bad server connections, drops, ect and you hit a situation where you could die because of the game itself and not your own fault and suddenly lose hours of work.

Exp Penalties are always bad in any game i have ever played...including pen and paper dungeons and dragons...which is why i was very happy to see that disappear in all genre's of games i have played. I was super disappointed when i realized that PoE had exp penalties on death...while i havent died much in the game i still detest the idea that its there...

At some point i think they will have to remove exp penalties and come up with some other death penalty...i think going the route of CoH/V is probably best way to do it. Where you gain " exp debt" so it slows your progression but doesnt make you leap backwards by a mile.
