Exp Loss is freaking unbalanced

" I love these kinda posts, expecting a change that it will never ever happen, is like dreaming fountains next to your house after you wake from your sleep. It is you who must change your mind, not them. GGG is not your average toy just because we have feedback section. And insisting on to demand same shit endlessly will not bring you to nowhere, and you know it ! Considering Chris himself having already said clearly more than one time, the people who willingly keep up the same discussion is called "stupidity", ever thought of that ? "This is too good for you, very powerful ! You want - You take" Last edited by BrecMadak#3812 on Mar 27, 2013, 5:13:15 AM

" Which is why GGG has nerfed and buffed various things about this game due to community feedback? Id say change your attitude, PoE is a game, not a job interview or an overly stubborn father " I would recommend you don't argue from the perspective of GGG or Chris, mainly because you are flat out wrong. The reason why loot is being changed all the time is because of community feedback. Sticking to your guns when there is a problem is called stupidity, not courage Last edited by deteego#6606 on Mar 27, 2013, 5:16:27 AM

" read that part of your quote again deteego, then go look over all of your posts in this thread. you'll figure out 1 of 2 things: 1. You are still sticking to your guns over what you perceive to be a problem 2. You are still sticking to your guns, even though the way you perceive the issue happens to be the problem. Either way we need a /thread on this topic...for now :) |

The exp penalty is the only thing that keeps me from afk facerolling everything and then dying of boredom.
The exp penalty keeps the game fresh, forces you to be at 100% at all times, forces you to come up with viable builds that are survivable but also efficient at farming, forces you to make decisions when it comes to items, prevents bots from farming for experience inside of maps (because they can die rather easily and thats it, 15% exp lost). An exp penalty does many good things for an ARPG, there is no way GGG would ever do the mistake of removing it. Except if they want to go down the same path as D3... a dying game Just forget about the exp loss ever being removed, its not gonna happen. You died, probably a lot, and got emotional over it. If you keep on dying, try a new character with another build, apparently yours is not working out. You have to treat softcore the exact same way as hardcore in the endgame. If your character cannot survive, you cant progress. " Its more like they are trying to fix the multiboxing issue with terrible band aids. Last edited by gh0un#3019 on Mar 27, 2013, 9:57:44 AM

I hate the XP curve more than the XP loss. Flatten it out a bit starting at level 65 and the XP loss won't be such a huge problem.

MODIFYING the penalty. Balance it. Make it fair to all levels inside of a given difficulty.
NOT REMOVE it. Title says "Exp Loss is freaking unbalanced", not "GGG get rid of death penalty so I can faceroll around" Please, no more creating straw men. Also, glass cannon builds are part of the RPG staple, like it or not, just as much as tanks. They NEED to be just as viable. Two different play styles. One with less DPS and increased survivability, one with lots of DPS and decreased survivability. Squishiness. Embrace it, nothing bad in it... placeholder for creative sig Last edited by Undon3#5633 on Mar 27, 2013, 11:10:15 AM

" You need to understand that glass cannon doesn't mean you have 100K DPS and one shot the entire map, or that you only take DPS talents. Glass cannons have defensive mechanisms too, and they also need to take defensive talents. But instead of "moar HP", they might have (functional) evasion, or active dodges, spellshields, invulnerabilities, blinks, mirrors, reflects and so on, so they would avoid getting hit, instead of soaking hits. placeholder for creative sig
