Is this just an anecdotal conclusion you leaped to?

I'm sure many people tried PoE and said "fuck this"

I rage quit many times hitting a damn stone with cyclone, or whirling blades/leap slam two or three times, only to be teleported back and die. On and on we could go.

Those issues 100% impacted my playtime.

I totally disagree that performance issues in 2011 were irrelevant to whether or not people continued to play.

If you left this game over something so trivial then you probably never played Diablo 2. To this day that game has problems where you get stuck on literally every pebble/chest/barrel/corner.

Nah I'm not doing this. Desync wasnt trivial, and was a MAJOR issue years ago. It was the #1 topic for years on the forums and feedback to the devs. You
are being disingenuous if you were really following closely back then.

I obviously didn't leave the game...because well, I'm still here. But there were definitely periods I didnt play, and they were tied directly to performance issues. (I dont think I was alone)

Edit: typos, phone OP

Im not saying desyncs wasnt a problem. It was a problem, especially for those who played on HC. But it wasnt anything game breaking, unlike those bugs which Wolcen has. PoE early days were butter smooth in comparison to this shitfest Wolcen has shown. They clearly werent ready to relese this game, they've just ran out of money and had to relese it as unfinishied, buggy piece of...

Nowadays? Yes? In 2011? Go play Diablo 2 now. It was thing that PoE was competing at the start.
In 2011 no one left the game because it had rubberbanding or other performance problems.

Not only does D2 have a true single-player mode (as does Wolcen, if server lag is a concern for anyone...), but D2's rubberbanding on battle.net is way less awful than PoE's was in 2014.

Hell, I play path of diablo nowadays, and even though they haven't changed any netcode, even their jank custom servers that need to be rebooted every 3 hours still don't have meaningful issues compared to pre-lockstep PoE. D2's performance was and still is amazing, especially considering how easy it was for a 2011 computer to handle 2001 graphics. Graphics are literally the only technical aspect that PoE even had over D2 back then.

seem like you forget that the things you talking about is a game, as long as players having fun with it, nothing else is matters.

you talking like that software gonna ruin his life and his career or something like that. but no, he bought a game, he plays it, having fun, done.

I'm not on either side of this conversation, but I prefer logical speaking more than random dogshit like this.

I wonder how do you feel about yourself alpha testing for free every 3 months for a billion dollar company.

Wolcen isn't a bad game... it's just a basic ARPG with a few special features. Without a lot of help, it isn't really going anywhere.

Items need more impact. Skills need more... skills.

It really feels like you're playing on rails.
Yuppers, I'm done with this Wolcen crap for now...maybe i'll check back in 3-6 mos. Back to the Atlas for now and play the "Find the Conq" game.

Almost a week in, and I will never get that back. $39 that could of been better spent on supporting a game I have played for many years.

Maybe all my items will turn Legacy and I will be a God-Like trader :) Prolly not...
