Allowing people to scam on the biggest ARPG in the world with no punishment is appalling.

The funny thing is protecting the scammers on the forums. And they often ban people who complain.

While I agree there is no real scamming (you have to cursor over the item and hit accept).

To those who feel scammed, consider GGG would have to evaluate the INTENT of the trade in every case. They would have to scan postings, messages, review if you haggled, if you both understood what you were agreeing to, make a judgement call in every case.

Or, they can say, if you hover your mouse over the item, and hit accept, you are agreeing to it.

I hate scammers but its untenable from GGGs point of view to fix this.

There is no verify system for services. I don't think some of you read OP correctly. He and 5 others paid 2ex to run two Chayula pure breaches and dude walked off with their exalts and no breach runs. This scam is very hard to prevent since it relies on trust. Only way to prevent it is do all content yourself (recommended):)

After reading "the biggest ARPG" in thread title I knew the rest would be a bunch of nonsense.

Remember - scamming did not exist in Diablo 3, unless you sold an item worth thousands of dollars for 250, but not many people ever found such an item so *shrug*

because the entire auction house was a scam, and diablo 3 had and still has 0 player interaction
I agree. It’s high time GGG do something proper about this. Before the game turn into a complete scamming shitfest.

He is not, made it up to show the other side of allowing to call people scamers without a check.
I haven't been scammed even once since I joined in 2012.

Lets recap how the AH improves 3 aspects of trading

1. No more trade scams. You always get what you pay for.

Afraid not. People will still look for the cheapest version of the item, don't consider why it might be the cheapest, and then complain that they got "scammed" because they bought a Vaaled item and tried to craft it.

"
Johny_Snow wrote:
2. No more price fixing. If you put something too low in an attempt to lure others to put it low so you can buy it from them - your item gets snapped.

Price fixing just works the other way: all the cheap items get bought up and flipped for much more. The main difference is people tend to target items with low drop rates to price fix on games with fully automated trading, instead of high-volume items.

3. No more items without a price sitting around. If you put something and don't price it others can bid on it, the highest bidder wins. This usually means that the people too lazy to check prices will almost always get less than they would have if they put some effort.

Depends how it's implemented; unpriced items don't necessarily have to be listed in any system, including the current one. It sounds like your proposal would get a lot of complaints from sellers who didn't know better that they'd been "scammed" again.

He has video proof which is removed.

He has proof the guy left with the jewels, does he have proof about their previous agreement, should the mods be checking timestamps?

If there is a cut in the video, should they assume the agreement changed or didnt?

Again, I hate scammers, not supporting them, but what should GGG do here? Honest question not trying to bait anyone.

How, step by step, should they enforce it, who should they believe?
