I have played EVE Online for 15+ years now. I am use to a game with scamming and subterfuge. With that said a seasoned player will almost never be scammed. So far in 5+ years of POE I have not been scammed. However I have seen it happen to friends even as recently as 2 nights ago. Friend close to lvl 97 wanted to run some Chayula Pures. He joins a hosted group pays for one run to make sure it is legit. One run goes smoothly. The host goes to collect from everyone , my friend feeling it was legit paid for 5 more runs. Others did too the host logs off and doesn't come back.

In the above scenario my friend took reasonable measures to guage if the host was legit. Only to then be scammed. The issue is there is no accountability in POE. You trash your rep as a player you just make a new char. I am not sure what the answer is. In EVE we have a contract system where you can offer X for Y and another person can fufill that order or request.

Paying someone for their promise to act a certain way gets you exactly what you paid for every single time... a promise. You don't always get what was promised though.

If we're just talking about services, then how the hell is GGG to blame? They don't provide any mechanics for "services" or "carry's", hence; it's not meant to be traded. IF you so CHOOSE to trade for them anyway, how's that anyone else's fault than yours?
