Allowing people to scam on the biggest ARPG in the world with no punishment is appalling.
The funny thing is protecting the scammers on the forums. And they often ban people who complain.
While I agree there is no real scamming (you have to cursor over the item and hit accept). To those who feel scammed, consider GGG would have to evaluate the INTENT of the trade in every case. They would have to scan postings, messages, review if you haggled, if you both understood what you were agreeing to, make a judgement call in every case. Or, they can say, if you hover your mouse over the item, and hit accept, you are agreeing to it. I hate scammers but its untenable from GGGs point of view to fix this. |

Remember - scamming did not exist in Diablo 3, unless you sold an item worth thousands of dollars for 250, but not many people ever found such an item so *shrug*

1) They're not "protecting scammers". They're protecting everyone.
2) They're not banning you for complaining. They're banning you for continuing acts that you were warned would get you banned. Quit misrepresenting their stance. |

" Because its so common for random players who werent scamming to get called out on it. Everyone doesnt need protection and you know it. |

Lets recap how the AH improves 3 aspects of trading
1. No more trade scams. You always get what you pay for. 2. No more price fixing. If you put something too low in an attempt to lure others to put it low so you can buy it from them - your item gets snapped. 3. No more items without a price sitting around. If you put something and don't price it others can bid on it, the highest bidder wins. This usually means that the people too lazy to check prices will almost always get less than they would have if they put some effort. So, since GGG will most likely not bother with scams (it is in their best interest to do that because they save money and effort this way) the scammed people better join the choir for an AH. |

I understant hovering and checking items, but how do you prevent scams in OP's case where he joins a 6 man Chayula Rota?
Just don't do them? Is that the solution? |

" Yes, unless you know the person very well or they have a hundred pages of reviews on the forums. A random stranger? Again, from GGGs side, what would you do? Do you check the activity log to see if he did a breach? What if he did one but the complaint says he promised more? Do you review text logs, do you spend 2 hours investigating? Do you lock down their currency in the meantime so they cant trade, or boot them? Then it would be easy to reverse scam someone you dont like with false claims. Whats the punishment for false claims, and how certain do you have to be? I dislike many of GGGs policies but Im curious how you would implement this protection system. Honest question, not sarcastic or dismissive. Imagine you have to solve it in three minutes, because you get 20 an hour, and its your job. |

" The solution there is to play in a guild. Find people who routinely do this and stick together. It's when you bring in outsiders (to make it "easier" to get one started) that you get scammed. You get scammed here because you're impatient... just like a trade scam. |

" Lol. 1) You always get what you pay for NOW. Some people are just to lazy to check what they are getting now. 2) How will there not still be price fixing? Poe.trade is currently a type of auction house already, it's just not automated. Nothing will stop someone from buying up all of a certain item in an automated auction house and relishing at a higher price. It will actually be worse than now because someone can buy 100s of things in a short time rather than a few. 3) If the item doesn't have a price, either move on or deal with them no responding/not being happy with your offer. |

" Receiving proof by mail - using red button. End of story. Simple as others companies handle the problem, doesn't really solve it but at least it send a positive message instead of encouraging such behaviors. Note: I'm talking only about services scam not regular trades - Hf :) Last edited by Heli0nix#0378 on Jan 12, 2020, 6:30:10 PM
