D3 OR PoE

Diablo 3 is dead to me since I saw the dual-crossbow wielding backflipping Demon Hunter. How do you go from the down-to-earth style of Diablo 1 to such cheap gimmicky crap is beyond me.

Well, it sounds a lot like they're trying to convince themself they did the right choice in hating D3...

There's less debate about D3 on TL2 forums, I don't know if it's because the mods moderate more or because people are more tamed and also like D3...

"I think it may be because PoE delivers on a somewhat implicit promise that Diablo 1/2 made to fans, that they may also feel has been forgotten in the third instalment. In other words (and no offence to GGG which have made a game that can stand up on its own), tone-wise, PoE is more like Diablo than the modern Diablo offering. Although as has been stated countless times previous, and in other threads, the choice between two games is always a false one. You don't have to choose one or the other. The game isn't your girlfriend - it won't mind you playing the field. For my part, I 'choose' PoE, simply because I don't find any of the other offerings as entertaining. |

I cannot make any proper judgements of neither game. POE isn't finished and I haven't played D3. I will try both when they officially are released and which one gets played more depends on the quality of the game.

Been playing the D3 beta for a while now and during that time I've watched them dumb it down further and further. I have my own suspicions its to make it more palatable for console gamers. The dramatic changes never started occurring until they announced they would make a console version.
No doubt about it, Diablo 3 has had heaps of money thrown at it for writers, sound engineers, voice actors, etc. But as everyone hopefully knows by now, all that alone doesn't make a spectacular game (*cough* Dragon Age 2 *cough*). PoE has the things _I_ enjoyed about playing Diablo 1 and 2 for. To me D3 has the glitz, PoE has the fun.. hence why I decided to support PoE. Sure I'll still play D3, I mean, I have an annual WoW pass so I get it for free anyways, but I'll be playing PoE after I finish the D3 story. |
