LOLOLOLO. Man sometimes is better not to talk about art if you don't know a shit about it. You can't see because it's dark? You need story? Lol. Go play fucking doom and tell me do you see a thing, or any other action horror game.

Edit: If you liked d2 and especially d1, there are high chances you will like PoE more that d3

But he was pretty much right.. color palette is not making dark and grim game. Even Doom was very very colorful yet it has very grim and dark mood.

Story is one of these things which can keep horror atmosphere...so yes...story is important too ..but not mandatory I guess.

Right? You cant make a horror atmosfer if you see everything, and have art style that looks more like torchlight than like diablo? In doom you didn't see everything, it was dark, i'm not talking about colors. Story? Well yes, if it had one. Both diablo and PoE don't have any scary story.
I'll be enjoying both.

^Simple as that.
:)
If D3 beta is any indication I will be playing PoE a lot more.

Both. D3 will be great. But this game seems more to my liking however D3 beta was so small that you can't even judge it, so don't listen to all the haters.

I already preordered D3. I've waited way 2 many years for this game to come up. The only reason why I'm interrested in PoE is that I have nothing to play untill 15th of may.

Pretty much sums up 99% of the people still playing this game.

I'm amazed the amount of effort GGG did to advertise this by paying people to write wonderful fake comments about this game and create the hype out of those silly donation packs.

I've played both beta and this can't even be compared to D3 beta, which is only 10% of Act 1.

D3 - Dark, beautiful moody atmosphere, the moment I played it I immediately felt like I'm back in D1.

poe - ugly characters in dull boring environments, it's an obvious diablo clone trying to leech off a famous franchise only to backfire, which resulted in insufficient funds and making people to pay to get into beta = biggest joke in gaming history
You mad?

The problem Miljan is that diablo 1 and 2 where not horror games. They had very dark, brooding atmosphere, but they were not horror games. No where was either of those games deliberately trying to scare you.

And, I think a lot of people here have some kinda over nostalgic fondness of the past that was Diablo 2 and see it through very rose colored glasses. Diablo 2 had a lot of bright colors. Hell, you had glowing green, blue mobs.

I agree that they were not horror games. But the feeling of the game was very different than in d3. Diablo 2 had outdoor areas so was more bright, but in caves and dungeons it had similar feeling to d1. It was dark, you couldn't see what will come in front of you, there was tension when you played, especially in HC on hell. Also a lot of people forget art style of d3 that has changed a lot, from gothic style to more different WoW like style.
