D3 OR PoE

Ok. Lets turn this game of posting ridiculous screenshots to make our point against you.

The horror! someone quick! use a grey brown filter to wash out that color and return the dark nostalgia we all remember!

I'm not sure what point you are trying to convey with those shots.
There IS a difference between colour scheme and art style. You can have bright colours on a dark themed game. I think you missed the point.

Have you removed Asus ROG/GameFirst yet?

I feel like a lot of the design resources for D3 seem to have been squandered by constantly remaking systems. The core skills seem great, but the itemization appears really shallow so far (probably especially since they have removed runes from it). They won't be able to rely on the staples of D2s itemization, like + skill levels, mana management, etc. Also, the game seems to have a lot of oddities, like even allowing monks or Demon Hunters to equip various melee weapons which they will never use. At least their art resources have all gone to good use.

How can you even make such a claim? No one has seen end game yet. The items listed on the website are a tiny fraction of whats available in game (and Legendaries don't even have their stats listed). The beta only provides 13 levels of the first 3rd of Act 1.

Why can't they rely on those staples? Making baseless opinions as fact once again.

Everything I have looked at gives me the impression that the base items on their website are all of those in the game (the website includes all 16 armor tiers which they have touted, for example). I know/claimed nothing about legendaries, sets, etc. I am just saying that the game doesn't seem set up to allow for the variety of item mods that Diablo 2 did. A pair of boots probably won't even just have +mana/+mana regen on it, because only one class has mana (this stat seems to appear only on the WH dolls instead). As mentioned in my original post, no room for +1 to all skills type mods either (which were hugely popular in D2). Attack spell and spell cast speed are identical now. I hope to hell the game has percentage +fire/etc. damage mods.

Additionally, nothing leads me to believe that monks and Demon hunters will start using melee weapons to attack. Instead, monks just his sword away to punch/kick.

You are right, the Demon Hunter will not use melee weaponse to attack. I believe a majority (though not all) require a ranged weapon to function. It's a ranged class. what is the problem?

The Monk IS a melee class. Yes the spell animations use his fists in most (but again not all) animations. They have said before that creating unqiue animations per weapon type per skill PER sex is a HUGE undertaking. One that won't be done for the release of the game, though later, maybe.

They've said that the items listed on the website are a small portion of the entire game. They've even cautioned people not to base too much on whats there as it hasn't been updated.

Nope. That is my point. Diablo 3 falls into exactly that.

Well i play both D3 and PoE Beta. D3 graphisms and areas are well made and ambiance is dark and heavy. I had a lot more fun with D3 than PoE. D3 is more rewarding and it's very important in an H&S imho.

PoE Merciless is supposed to be end game right ? I play a lvl 57 marauder... doing always the same fellshrine runs... always looting the same low level crap. It's just boring. Didn't mention that i also have to find the perfect passive skill right from the start !?!

With D3, GrimDawn, Torchlight 2... i hope that PoE will be fixed asap !

i'd say d3 falls more into the "cartoonish wow" style.

For god sake. The two games don't have the same visuals. They are different.

Some of you seem to be artistically challenged.

No, Diablo 3 has a VERY different ART STYLE than the previous 2. It's not just about the colour palette used.
