Crashes, 5700 XT AMD Issue?

So, this is kind of annoying. A few people on the subreddit have said the Vulkan work around might be considered against the ToS. I reached out to support and they were completely unhelpful.

Thank you for contacting Support.

I'm afraid that we are unable to speculate on what actions may lead to moderation action being taken upon an account, however in general we would recommend not using any application which directly interacts with Path of Exile.

Regarding this technical issue, this is a known issue which is currently being looked into. Rest assured that we will have this resolved as soon as possible.

I tried to follow up.

I don't suppose there is any way to contact someone who would be able to look into it? Due to the lack of new information, I'm just not sure how long the full fix should expect to take.

My main worry is the planned update for organs to auto pickup later this week. Which will make the game unplayable for people having this issue without the work around. I understand it's a work in progress but it just creates an awkward situation for AMD users.

And received.

Thank you for getting back to us.

I'm afraid not. If these issues persist after we have released a patch addressing this please feel free to contact techsupport@grindinggear.com and the appropriate team members will be more than happy to look into things further with you.

Sooo. Yeah. I guess it's just kinda "Too bad, so sad" at the moment. Pretty disappointed that is their reply.

Me too, but surely you have to agree that absolute silence for 4 days is not the way to go about it either. An update like "We are still working on this" commented once every 48 hours or something would do a lot to calm people down. I mean we currently don't even know if they are working on it (please don't tell me they EVEN went a bought a 5700xt, big deal, they should have had one already).

I am actually happy playing without the league mechanic until it is fixed (obviously if they implement auto pickup I will need to switch to the Vulkan workaround) and I will remain happy playing like this but SOME feedback would go a long way.
Vulkan worked for me, thanks. Performance is all over the place but slowly improving the more I play.
FYI, Vulkan is against the TOS?

Let me know if this is an inappropriate or too rash response, but I think we should give them thumbs down reviews on steam. Right now, their recent ratings are at overwhelmingly positive and they did an announcement a couple of days ago that this was one of their smoothest launches ever without even mentioning this issue. I get this is a huge issue that will take a long time to fix, but it definitely feels like we've been cut off like an infected leg. At first, this seemed like a small bug with the league mechanic, but this is a bigger issue that they let pile up for a long time. It's only now that it's biting them in the ass to the point that it's unplayable for us. It really sucks since this is my main game, and I was looking forward to this league a lot. I'm going to leave a negative review on steam until the issue is either fixed or they give us a rough ETA. I think that's fair. If that's the wrong thing to do, let me know.

I'd rather see all their asses working on fixing this than actively spamming forum/twitter/reddit with not-ready statements without a solution. we have the workaround - it aint perfect but seems working for alot guys. Negative bombings are no proper way to make them work faster or anything.

Keep in mind, that speeking out your negative mindset might be relieving for yoiu but it wont change anything on your situation right now - either might it shoot in the opposite direction. negative bombing might shock potential new players when they see this negative spam without any context and keeps new players away.

At least, ya, tl;dr: y<ou can do it, but it wont change anything for anyone. So keep your patience and hope for the best as long as you play with the workaround <3

Well, I would at least want to see some update from them. Like "we were able to reproduce the issue and are working on it" or "we work with amd" and not it be just an item on known issues list

Technically it is (workaround is hooking graphic libraries and redirects output from DX to vulkan), but as well as running it on Linux (as it nowadays uses also only vulkan), yet nobody from GGG ever complained, and devs kinda gave green light to Linux long time ago. Wine forum here on path of exile - staff posts only

Also GGG staff is monitoring this thread and did not gave any discouraging comments so far. So I would say the workaround is currently in gray zone (you are free use it, but don't report any issues to GGG while using it). It's not like were are hacking game to gain some advantage, we are just trying to make game work, and we are not modifying any game files.

Actually, it would be nice if GGG give some statement to the workaround here on this forum and not trough the email as it is possible that email goes to some outsourced company they pay for tech support (so you will get only generic response).

I wouldn´t be suprised if those you write emails with, are not at GGG headquarters, but somewhere else.

That´s how it works in many companies at least. The support staff, is not able to talk to the Dev´s or make own decisions, they have their pattern answers ready and that´s it.

I have played from A3 to A6 without a crash now, but A1 and A2 were unplayable.
Looks like Vulkan works. In Dry Lake have no crashes with it and have - without.
Thanks, dude(s)!
i truly don't understand what all these ppl praise this company for. this is utterly embarrassing and honestly unacceptable.
I don't understand why didn't they just remove the offending visual effect (as a temporary solution before the proper fix).
