Blight going core will suck and frustrate most players

Only make Blighted maps go core. Not regular Blight encounters.

Blighted maps are some of the most fun party play I have had in this game.
This is like when people were doing the cry on Synthesis encounters. If it is completely optional to run, and is always an extra there for people to run or ignore, how/why would it frustrate anyone?

It's like there are optional side quests in campaign. I can personally say I haven't run a non-skill point quest in over a year, but does it annoy me that they are there? Why the hell would it.

Will not go core, I hope. Maybe they will bring us the oils and another way to anote items like vendor recipes. It is the problem like synthesis, the mechanic could be fun, but just for a short time. THey have to bring oils into core, because people want to have same chance in standard to oil their juwelry for passive notes, as the player had, who played league. If they would not bring it, the prices for such amulets in standard get astronomic, because no more, no longer a cheap passive note.

We will see. Maybe not like now, but the oils will remain.
I really enjoy Blight and i hope at least the blighted maps will go core.
Also since i get that impression from this thread, i would like to know:
do people really like Abyss in core?
I did certainly like the abyss league, but now when i see an abyss in my map i`m just annoyed.
If it goes on after the first stop - no abyssal depth, so then you can follow the abyss for up to 3 more stops where it likes to just go to areas that you already cleared making you backtrack the map.
And all that for one blue abyss jewel?
I mean sure abyss jewels are awesome but really if the abyss goes on after the first stop i always consider to just skip it.
anointing should go to core.
blighted maps as zana missions maps can go to core.
blighted encounters in maps and cassia as a master - hell no.

Now that it's been smoothed out quite a bit I actually hope it does go core. Good to have a mechanic around that slows the pace of the game a little bit.
I can quite honestly say that I even enjoyed Synthesis more than this league, and I hated Synthesis.

TL:DR Long grumble, apologies for length.

I absolutely loved Legion because I enjoyed the league mechanic, but more importantly sustain actually felt meaningful, even in SSF. I know that for lots of players it was a loot bonanza, but to be honest for me it just felt as though I could do my own crafting properly, sustain the maps I wanted to run, and PLAY THE WAY I WANTED TO PLAY.

The last point is THE most important to me. After many leagues, when I level up a character and do uber elder, there are only so many things you want to do to continue playing, and in Legion I was able to do that and enjoy the league until the last day.

Blight, on the other hand... Well, I was skeptical at best after the announcement. I knew they were going to nerf the drop table back into oblivion, but I thought I will give it a go... It can't be THAT bad, after all?

Wrong, this league imgo is easily the worst league I have played in PoE, and I've been playing since Harb. The league mechanic might work if it wasn't so fundamentally broken (what a surprise, Synthesis, Betrayal anyone remember how broken they were originally?). After last league I wanted to play melee again after many leagues of ranged toons. Now, getting one shot from fire mobs off screen when not standing on the path has just become way too much like misery.

I'm determined to take out Uber Elder again (which with the current crap sustain rates is taking ages) and then I'm done with this nonsense. I'd rather play out the rest of this stupidity in Standard.


I have 3 main grumbles:

1. Why do they continually have to nerf drop rates and make our daily gaming a constant painful struggle? Aren't we supposed to be enjoying the game?

2. Why do their class & skill "improvements" now mean that each league seems to force you to play their idea of the new "meta" otherwise your League will be a total crapfest of misery? Aren't we supposed to be able to enjoy this game playing our own choice of Ascendancy?

3. Why does every single new League mechanic seem to be released in a worse state than even a Beta version? Broken doesn't even come close. This has happened almost every league now since Harbinger (sorry I have no experience prior).


I love this game. No, let me correct that. I love what this game SHOULD BE. This game is like being in a love/hate marriage. You know that deep down there's an awesome person in there and you see constant glimpses from behind the curtain. However, your daily life consists of trying to avoid being bodily harmed by that self same person because the flaws constantly mask the hidden persona.

Eventually, the promise of how this game COULD BE is going to outweigh the constant bad mechanics, bad performance, bad class tweaks, Meta forcing, and drop rate fiddling. Eventually enough will be enough, and I will personally no longer be able to make excuses to myself about the state of it to continue playing.

Sorry again for anyone with the patience to read all this. I'm not happy.
I loved Path of Exile.
I do not love Path of RNG.
Bloom gives me migraines, the over usage of darkness strains my eyes.
Save our game, remove all of the constant RNG and allow us to turn off Bloom or give us an in game brightness control!
