Blight going core will suck and frustrate most players
" No. But you can anoint the amulet before corruption and then use Jorgin to convert it into a Talisman. It'll keep the anointment. |

I like the Blight league. I wish they add it to core.
I you don't like it, you can skip it. I have 6 blighted maps. It's still more than I did Timeless Conflict domain runs. My builds:

" Nah. I liked the Temple (rewarding or not). I actually don't like Delve (the mine, not the crafting aspect), nvm how rewarding it may be. I liked Betrayal, although I hate the unveiling grind (wouldn't mind so much if only 'power' crafts were behind it, but when you gate convenience stuff like 'trigger Socketed spells...', etc. behind that grind, it really grinds my gears!). I liked Synthesis, albeit I think the implementation of the Synthesizer needed a LOT more work on accessibility. I really didn't like Legion, except for the Timeless Jewels (loved those!). And yeah, I like Blight. It has performance problems, just like every other league for a long time now so that doesn't affect my opinion one way or another. I make no excuses for that and hope GGG stops thinking they can keep getting away with that. It also has issues of accessing its content due to the rarity of Blighted maps and oils, which I similarly don't like much. But the game mechanic itself i.e. the Tower Defense? Love it! And I don't give a shit about how rewarding per minute it is. It's rewarding enough imo, and most importantly fun. Cos that's what I play games for (and no, I'm not a big fan or player of TD games in general - I just like my PoE with interesting and varied systems, not razor sharp focus on muh maximum efficiency!). And I find it really ironic that you say they're out of good ideas, when pretty much the hallmark of Generation 3 leagues is them trying out and/or borrowing (in the case of Blight) all sorts of inventive concepts. Compared to the others you've implicitly dismissed, Delve and especially Abyss are the un-creative ones - Abyss was literally called Breach 2.0 by many even before (and after) it came out (until Legion came along, and people labeled it 2.0, forgetting Abyss), albeit with more of a gear and crafting payoff (Abyss jewels). " This! People these days seem to only measure leagues by the loot explosions. "Blight sucks ass because it isn't rewarding". If I should measure Blight by rewards, it would go like this: I'm fairly casual in terms of ambitions and skills, but I've played quite a lot this league. And I have probably 100 ex worth of gear on my character. I feel that it pretty "rewarding". And 99% of the Blighted Maps I've run, have been pretty decent in terms of rewards. But rewards aren't everything. Mechanics are at least as important. And I very much like Blight. It makes you interact with the game. It makes you think and make choices. It differs from the "zoomzoom" that was Legion. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Love Blight cant wait for amulet annointment to hit standard. Prefer to wait than to bug glitch annointment in stndard after 3.8.1

I'm absolutely loving blight, even though I haven't run any blight maps yet. But I love the crafting complexity it adds to the game, and how it works with the passive tree. My only non-technical issues complaints would be to spawn the oil cashes and the bosses more often. And to signal on the minimap where the boss portals are, and where the spawned bosses are.
Blight is a non-intrusive league, meaning if you want to skip it you can just walk past Cassia. Unlike betrayal. |

I like the mechanics, it just needs some more polishing. Right now there are some problems around blight and blighted maps.
About the loot, for me it's fine. I found 6 ex this season, 3 of them dropped via blight. I think the blight rewards only gets a problem for builds that clear a whole map in a minute (or even less). But the important question here is what's really wrong: the amount of time needed for an blight encounter, or the clearspeed of some builds. @sarannah101 there is already a symbol on the minimap if a boss is on their way. But I agree with you that a visual hint which portal will spawn a boss would be a nice addition. You say Prison Cell, I hear 'Holiday'.

" If you aren't forced to start up the Blight encounters, then why worry about the people that do enjoy it? It probably needs a lot of tweaking, but I think it adds another interesting aspect to playing PoE. "The only legitimate use of a computer is to play games." - Eugene Jarvis

Not being forced to do blight, unlike pre 3.8 betrayal, means at worst, players just won't do it.
