The Salvage Box has been Scrapped

To be honest, having to pay to get rid of duplicates we already paid for was a really wrong move. But you listened to your community and react very fast. For that, you didn't go down in my estimation at all. But watch out for your marketers from now on.

I'd say it would be much better if you simply let us accumulate points somehow if we don't need the dupes.

What about a direct discount on an item? Say I wanted to buy a pair of gloves. I have a dupe of another pair of gloves I don't need. I use that second pair to get a discount on the first one. People are still spending money on your products, but now they will be able to gamble more using those boxes. This would also allow for players to recycle those armors they bought but didn't really end up liking.


I wouldn't mind buying 10 boxes myself if I knew that a system like that existed.

The speed at which they pulled this box leads me to believe this whole thing was a fishing expedition to see how far they could go. Now they they've seen that its to far they removed the box and said the most insincere "we're sorry" I've ever seen. [Removed by Support]

Think for a second, if almost the entire community rejected this idea in its current form then how in the hell did it go live? Either GGG has no quality control and just dumps out whatever comes to mind, or Tencent has alot more control than Christ is willing to admit.

Are people who are solely blaming reddit for its removal just not paying attention or something? I don't read the reddit forum regularly. What I do read is the official forum regularly and the vast majority of posts here were outraged, too.

Not sure what you were expecting, but at this point this seems like another terrible thing that you retract to pretend you listen to the community better than other developers.

Honestly, this is GGG's MO: viral internal marketing to push the boundary of what they can get away with, then yank the carpet out leaving the community in shock and awe of how in touch they are with the feedback.

This would have been fine if it was free, and couldn't award something you already owned/put in/was common.

Did somebody get fired today? Just kidding, but you could make it a little bit better. And that fast reaction, just wow, I'm impressed. Keep experimenting with mtxes, this can be fun, like that hideout music one.

So, I've read the comments on the announcement post and it just seems you designed the rewards and marketing aspect of it poorly and that's what made people angry (and I get them, like wtf). It's a dam good idea in theory though.

Reading the post first time as it is now it really looks like they removed all the bits with incriminating truth though (LUL). Like I don't know, but their marketing practices look seriously sketchy compared to a not too long a while ago.
We've moved further from like "We make gut gaem, pls pls buy shiny, we reward u well" to closer to like EA practices. GGG: *surprised Pikachu face*

Edit: I've been saying this legit for years (even though in slightly different forms): I would pay you just to play, like go subscription model, get your cash the ethical way and give us the banging game PoE deserves to be.
