CI and stun

They should have realized that when they started to use the same canned/styled animations and boss mechanics. Not to mention that their fanbase would go up in arms if they actually changed the engine to something that isn't a D2 clone.

That's not to say I don't like it as it is. I'll come back when the Melee is better, but as it stands now, the biggest issue isn't CI, it's the over reliance of HP to calculate things like Stun Resists, and Affliction durations, whether or not you are using any of the capstones.

True enough, saying a CI character gets stunned as much with or without CI is a falacious cop-out that ignores to acknowledge the fact that CI builds have to ignore Health stones in exchange of ES stones since CI turns your health into 1 regardless.
Having 1 health, removing completely your option of using potions in a pickle in exchange for chaos immunity is fair, making you so vulnerable to stun/freeze lock from 100%-0% by 2 skeletons or getting shockstacked for 12 seconds when a spark heads your way is kinda overkill though.

They aren't because its ridiculously retarded

Thea amount of life you would have to get (with a CI build) to reduce the effects of status ailments means you would get one shot (instead of getting stunned) because of how much you would have to compromise on not getting ES

That still doesn't address his point. People that use CI never get health, because its at the cost of ES, so either you have less ES hence die a lot faster, or you have more ES but you get massive duration on status ailments

This has nothing to do with damage

I have thought and rethought about it, and i think that the broken part of the status ailments
is not the % landing one, but the duration one.

the cap is too high (6-7 seconds for some ailments).

this cap never works on normal builds, it just shows up for pure ES builds.

Lowering that cap to reasonable values would be something.

I don't know about Bleeding time if it's HP related too, can someone confirm?


If adjusting a cap to normal levels is a too hard request, i ask the opposite,
remove totally the hard cap duration for ailments.
so stuns can run for 60 seconds, freezes for 120 seconds,
bleedings for 50 seconds and so on, no limit up to their natural duration.

Maybe THEN they will work on a good mechanic that doesn't require an HARD CAP because it's "forbidden word" (broken).

So you think any CI build should require a specific *unique* or another keystone to be effective?

It isn't that we aren't all as clever as you and hadn't thought of removing stuns from the table, it's about not wanting to be forced down a certain path to have a keystone work.
