GGG do not give in to the crying masses

The game was never pushed towards casuals, ever. Ever, ever, ever.

Casuals are PUNISHED for simply looking at the game. They will not cater to them and they never have, don't worry.

Casuals are what will pay their bills at the end of the night. Hardcore players are hardcore for a reason, they leetch...well majority do. Play a free game and give fuck all back.

I don't want to hear it, you know I'm right and even if you don't then you are included in that group.

Some of the things in this game is incredibly frustrating. They need to be addressed. I'm sure they will. Dumb thread imo, just glorified brownosing.

Another problem with these forums (and I've been guilty of this myself, hence no mocking putdowns here lol...) is that people don't take into account that many are posting to address one point and/or using a term in a broader sense.

So, in this context, to save you the rageface, try putting aside what people are SAYING on the surface and try to understand what they actually MEAN. People are arguing for an idealised vision of the game, one that intersects with the developers stated goals and their own. Some call this 'hardcore' - if you are a min/maxer leet player then you will take offense at the use of this term in this way - so just replace it in your head with "softcore" and you might hear their actual intent. Now, further to that intent thing and trying to read with comprehension I did not just say that if you disagree then you must be a hardcore snob. I was making an example from other arguments raised (I thought I should make this clear based on your current kneejerk reaction).

If you calm down a bit you might see that what people are arguing for is a purity of design - and yes, it is necessarily arbitrary, in the end, because they are only assuming that their ideal vision of the game aligns with what GGG's original goals are - but that intent is what I support.

I don't support objective flaws either. If you want to engage in a discussion with me, put down the scattergun and assume that I'm not the sort of idiot who would say "we don't need any feedback GTFO". We might both learn something!

I don't at all consider you to be one of those "go back to D3" people, I've seen you post enough to know better, so I'm sorry if that's how it seemed. I just get irritated by how much hand waving goes on sometimes in regards to this games flaws and shortcomings; complaints are too often dismissed using the reasoning that it's just hardcore and therefore untouchable.

Ah - my apologies then sir - but I don't think I could blame people for thinking I'm a mindless troll lol...

I agree with what you say - too many valid issues are dismissed in this manner. I don't want GGG to dismiss feedback and I don't want them to listen to absolutely everything either. As I've said elsewhere, I'd hate to be in their shoes...

Why god why would you bump a thread which is (1) trolling, (2) exhausted any possible discussion, (3) has no useful content whatsoever? And all you did was bump, you didn't even try to contribute anything of value.

I mean seriously, what the fuck?

Err... I could take a guess...

1) he doesn't think it's trolling, he thinks OP has a point
2) he doesn't think the discussion is exhausted yet (probably because of the threads that are still being created along the lines OP mentions)
3) he thinks it has some useful content?

Summary: he doesn't have the same opinion as you?

Just a wild guess...

I will never understand how people manage to convince themselves that something as trivial as having the option to turn on floating damage numbers somehow diminishes the value of the game.

It's not about 'convincing themselves' - it's a very valid point of view to do with a 'pure vision' that I have never been able to explain adequately enough but am more than willing to try (again) if anyone can actually discuss it objectively. I just don't think it's necessarily that important as I have no idea what the devs think on this and their reasoning for it i.e. they may well think it is totally fine to provide the option.

This topic title would make for a great pop single. I'm voting for the guy that did "Leave Britney alone" to be the star.

Please don't let it happen, GGG. Resist and let this game remains like it was in close beta.

This game is SO far from what CB was. What it is now is not even remotely close. It's a mess. You don't know what you're talking about. Clearly you haven't played CB.

And it died, so even if he thinks that, there's no reason to bump it.

So why couldn't he add anything productive then? If the discussion wasn't exhausted, then surely he had something to say?

'Bump' posts should be a banworthy offense outside the trade forums.

And the discussion still ended.

Seriously, there's no valid justification for a post of 'bump' in a discussion forum. If people stopped responding to a topic, then people stopped responding.
