anyway, my point is players wanna go crazy ingame, dealing millions of damage while beating the content. just like i (want to) do.
take that away, a lot of 'em would be out. just like i would.
But there are a lot of other games that have this "millions of damage" quality though (such as Diablo 3 and Warframe). However, I assume this quality isn't the only one you're looking for in a game, and that Path of Exile has something else that sets it apart. Otherwise why aren't we all just playing the "Epic ARPG" from the video, where we win the game instantly with a ton of explosions?
It's these other qualities, whatever they may be, that are more important than we realize.
oh for sure.
in my first year of playing this game reading the lore was fascinating.
learning the craft and the items was the most fun i ve ever had in an arpg game.
but the more i played poe the more i felt another feeling. feeling of domination. it was really satisfying to crush the content.
yea i agree its a fun game at start. but after the point of all knowing all powerfull moment it becomes how far i can push my character.
i ve played games where there was a lack of story and absence in variety of choices.
i think poe does not suffer from either of those.
its not that there is just that delaing millions of dmg part, its just whats left for me to do in this game.

One of the negative aspects of trying to engage with the community in this game is the toxicity of the forum and the elitism here. It leads to hesitation when wondering about something, whether there is any point writing a thread or post about it.
Thankfully there are gems in here (sorry for the pun) that are truly helpful and friendly, who I appreciate dearly. The ratio can be pretty bleak, though :-/
I think the "toxic" part of the community is a lot smaller than what is represented here and on reddit.
The people with the bluntest instruments (the ones that invest the least energy into their use) are just the ones that charge in first.
To be fair the issue is that GGG will still listen to those toxic leeches since they are the most vocal throwing garbage in every thread.
When you look at those players they are either no-lifers or fanboys playing meta and going 'hur hur, look at my giant e-peen that makes everything easy''.
Joe the ''pro'' that is following the guide is not a ''pro'' , he is a scrub that took someone else's idea and copies it and thinks he is good.
The fact is, POE is a casual game.
It does not require any critical thinking, it requires being a sheep and following meta. Those so called pros are few and are the ones coming up with unique builds.

Case an point dude above plays typical cookie-cutter, makes fun of one casual that was having a tabula and suddenly everyone complaining about the comment that's doing T16 is a scrub with tabula rasa/goldrim.
MrsDeaf is right though. It would kill the game in a day for people like her.
To be fair at the end of the day no matter what changes are wanted by players, they will also be pulled by Chris and his cronies. You remember this thread?
The day when they pulled bs out of their rear and used it as an excuse to smash the frak out of ES? Exaggerated comments such as ''some players had 25k ES'' (sure, dudes with mirror gear, Headhunter , vaal pact that could leech back then and 100 other things).
They also put their '' we have 1000 hour player experts in our QA department''.
At the end of the day they should think more about players as ''casuals'' and ''non-casuals'' and more in terms of ''timeframe spent per week on your game''.
The kid that is sitting in mommy's basement can afford to pull 18h a day in his 3 months Summer vacation/2 weeks winter holiday. The guy working 7.5-10h a day might be able to pull 2-3h a day if he is lucky and more on the weekend. Guess who bring the real money though.
Tip, it's not the kid.

Was talking about the change being pulled back by Chris, case in point their manifesto which nerfed ES by 33% after they used inflated numbers as excuses.

i dont think we can blame that solely on chris.
if you think a change will hurt the game in the long run i see no reason to keep that change.
in the end players are the boss and doing changes according to please them just sounds reasonable to me.
