but i ve been playing trade league since forever. i talk to a lot of players ingame about how game is going and what they think about current changes. i wanna say majority of the players are closer to me.
by closer i dont mean 36+ challenges closer. i mean 20+ challenges done, self map sustaining in trade league players.
i am not farming absurd amount of currency. i just play the right builds to complete 40 challenges in the shortest amount of time possible.
anyway, my point is players wanna go crazy ingame, dealing millions of damage while beating the content. just like i (want to) do.
take that away, a lot of 'em would be out. just like i would.

I applaud you for trying. One of the negative aspects of trying to engage with the community in this game is the toxicity of the forum and the elitism here. It leads to hesitation when wondering about something, whether there is any point writing a thread or post about it.
Thankfully there are gems in here (sorry for the pun) that are truly helpful and friendly, who I appreciate dearly. The ratio can be pretty bleak, though :-/

But there are a lot of other games that have this "millions of damage" quality though (such as Diablo 3 and Warframe). However, I assume this quality isn't the only one you're looking for in a game, and that Path of Exile has something else that sets it apart. Otherwise why aren't we all just playing the "Epic ARPG" from the video, where we win the game instantly with a ton of explosions?
It's these other qualities, whatever they may be, that are more important than we realize.

The more I play the more I agree with the video.
But also every time I encounter some problem I try to look it up and I always find threads there, on reddit and on steam from 2014~till this day with the very same complaints.
-Disproportionate death penalty
-Apparently cheap one shots
-Cancerous trading
-Counter-intuitive building
-Unfun/backwards atlas mechanics
-Deliberate withholding vital information from players
Etc etc.
Nothing changed over the years, game's balance was not altered in any major way neither was general meta.
Which brings me to the conclusion that all of this is by design. What a lot of people perceive as "problems" GGG perceives as "design concept" or something.
So I dunno really if any of those will ever be fixed or rebalanced. I hope so, but seriously doubt it.
An army of rabid fanboys jumping every single negative topic doesn't help either, as they probably give GGG the sense of security and confidence in their highly questionable "design concept" or whatever you call it.

I think the "toxic" part of the community is a lot smaller than what is represented here and on reddit.
The people with the bluntest instruments (the ones that invest the least energy into their use) are just the ones that charge in first.
