What nugiyen is doing right now is amazing

What Nugiyen is doing is impressive.

However, he's being successful as a melee because he's turning his AoE skill into a ranged skill... I'm not sure how I feel about calling that "melee", but at least it's one more way to play melee, other than spamming enduring cry.

18 pages and people still don't understand that the definition of ranged is attacking beyond your weapons natural range. Oh well sigh.

Limited to melee weapons doesn't mean anything. Any skill could be limited to a melee weapon you don't comprehend the difference between mechanics of a skill and aesthetics.

I just read quite a bit of this thread. To be clear, I'm not one of those "melee is underpowered fix plz" guys. I have a leap/sweep duelist and I'm pretty happy with his power. He's only in cruel so I don't have much authority on the subject.

But let me get this straight... people said that melee is underpowered. Nugi makes a powerful "melee" build by giving it range. And this "proves them wrong."

Sounds to me like he proved them right.

Again, I'm not complaining about where melee is right now. I just don't think that a character that can reach halfway across the screen is a good measure of how powerful "melee" can be.

I don't understand what's so hard to comprehend. If you're arguing that only using single-target melee skills counts as being melee, you're playing the wrong game. You don't mow down a pack of 10+ mobs with a single-target skill. You're obviously doing it wrong. They're not going to fix that since there's nothing to fix. You're the problem.
