" As a templar, he gets increased AoE as a quest reward in cruel act 2, so not much challenge there, solo or not... And he did start with AoE increase on cleave, since the templar start area has a line of passives for it, and is in a good position to get those in the witch start area. I'm just saying that putting his build togheter was rather easy, for a "self-found" race, since he didn't have to count on drops for his main stuff. Who gives a flying fuck who did what and when? There has been so many threads about melee and endgame that this thread should have been the shutdown to the argument. But, no. In typical internet fashion, everyone is fighting about the nuances of what is actually being done and who is doing it. It's like having a conversation with my six year old. Unlike some others in this thread I'm not saying what Nugiyen did wasn't impressive. I didn't enter the thread to bash him. All I'm saying is that what he's shown is that one specific melee build can be made viable by greatly increasing its range (and even so Cleave starts out with five times the range of 1h melee attacks and four times that of 2h). That shouldn't be used as a measure of melee viability. |

" It's a little hard to reply in a thread this long without some generalization. All I'm trying to point out is that people are really trying hard to derail the subject at hand by being petty. As for melee, I just don't see the argument against cleave. If I have a stick and I can hit you with it while it's still in my hand, no matter if its 3 foot or 10 foot, it's still a melee weapon. If said weapon is no longer in my hand (if I throw it at you) it's no longer melee, it's ranged as it is now a projectile. My two cents. All the things I want to remember are in the places I'd like to forget.
