So, its time to get rid of Damage Reflect mod on maps
Atziri having Reflect is ok, she is a final boss and makes her harder so no problem.
Reflect in specific Rare mobs is fine, but the whole map reflecting is a bit exaggerated ps: it's not a criticism just a discussion, so no rage pls. Last bumped on Jan 6, 2019, 4:11:09 AM

You want a build to rule them all. To be able to do everything. That pretty much means no other build will be considered "viable" except by hipsters. Every build should have a weakness that is difficult to overcome. Reflect is serving that purpose. It keeps people who like builds that clear stuff before they even see it on the screen in check.
If you're playing a build that can't take a reflect map, then reroll it. If it's corrupted, you can re-roll it with the 3:1 recipe once you get three of them. That's the cost associated with not being able to run them. Same goes with Temporal Chains. There are builds that run that fine... but it's not for every build. I'd like to see them encourage these mods by granting them higher IIR/IIQ so that people will value running them, and perhaps build a character suited for them. When a mod gets re-rolled too often, you know that risk:reward is out of whack. Upping reward is a option over removing risk. |

they need a currency sink.
some of the mods are extremely likely to roll tho, and are just a pain: temp chains, cant regen, reflect... Should reduce chance of these to roll. |

I dont think reflect map mod serves a purpose, I think its a stupid mod and should be removed from maps.
It either A. doesnt effect you because its phys reflect and youre pure ele, or pure chaos, or traps etc, so you run it and its completely invisible, has no effect at all. Or B. you are running a phys build, its phys reflect so you dont run it, you reroll it. What purpose did that serve? It just made 1 guy reroll the map, it didnt change anyones build, it didnt make anyone play differently, it doesnt challenge people, its just if it effects you then you dont play it and therefor it doesnt effect you. It essentially just becomes a currency sink, yes, that is all that it actually achieves aside from instakilling some poor fuck who was playing too many hours too late and misread his map once in a blue moon. Why do we need it as a currency sink? We run a map, pick up a chaos orb, next map requires us to use it to get rid of a mod... ok, if the chaos orb existing is the problem just dont drop the fking chaos orb to begin with, you dont need mostly redundant redundant, occsionally gotcha LOL!!!! HAHA!!!! map mods that just waste peoples time standing at their stash looking out for bullshit and rerolling it to not have that chaos orb exist. Remember when reflect was not only super common on maps but also on rares, and the reflect on random rare mobs was as super harsh and HA UR DEAD LOL!!!!!! as the currenct map mods? It just turned hc league into path of spork totems. It just becomes why selfcast and die when I can run traps or totems and be immune to reflect? Why would the game wish to encourage using totems or traps over self casting? This is the thing with it, its not like reflect existing on those mobs or now on map mods like this makes people say hey, I need to up my defenses and have a balanced build. That doesnt happen, you dont play self cast arc and decide to go less glass cannon and get better defense to survive reflect maps, you just can never do reflect maps as self cast arc, at all, regardless of how you build it, so if really needed or wanted to play reflect maps for whatever reason youd play arc traps or essence drain instead. why is that a good thing? I think those mods are just clinging to a past, an outdated way of thinking by the devs that they just need to get over and move beyond. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

" Have you tried: | |
There's plenty of ways to get around reflect, including passives which reduce how much reflect damage is taken. It isn't that bad.

The main reason is that there are still ASC classes with reflection mitigation and GGG would need more time to rework these if they removed reflect from maps.
I still agree reflect has no place as a random map affix after it was removed from mobs. It's simply the fall out of a once very overpowered game mechanic (instant leech) that forced a very punishing counter mechanic (reflect). IGN: Arlianth

People, i know there is some ways to avoid reflect, the problem is:
all mobs reflect damage. Just adjust the mod to only rare and unique reflects damage, then will at least manageable |

You can't have it all. Yeah it's annoying when you alc a map and see a "reflect" mode but just throw it in your sale tab and move on. There's plenty of builds who don't care about certain reflect mobs and they'll buy it off you.

I think it would be better as a boss mechanic.
Right now its just kind of odd and stupid having it as a map mod while some classes have reflect immunity and some don't. Makes no senses. People who don't have reflect immunity are just going to ditch the map or reroll map until the mod is gone anyways. Remove it as a map mod and remove all reflect immunity from ascendancy classes and put something useful in its place instead. Last edited by Ratedetar#0768 on Dec 15, 2018, 6:39:45 PM
